Even when I try restarting the calculator it still remains there!
it is a TI-30 xa calculator ,,, can you help me?
Clear the display so that zero shows, then press STO M2 to store zero in the M2 registry. Any time there is a non-zero number stored in M1, M2 or M3, you will see those memories in the display to remind you there's something stored. There is no "clear memory" function on the TI-30XA, you have to store zero in the memory to clear M1, M2 or M3 from the display.

OK, my lack of clarity...to store in M2, press "STO" then "2"
To store in M1, press "STO" then "1"
To store in M3, press "STO" then "3"
There is no "memory clear" button on the TI-30XA, and values stored in the three memory registers are retained through power off.
So, if that M1, M2 or M3 in the display bugs you, save the value "zero" into the memory location and the display will clear.
Personally, I ignore it, since the next stored value over writes whatever is there. The "M1" etc in the display is just to remind you that you have something stored

i have an M2 button on the top left corner of my screen and it WONT go away. even when i press clear it remains there, help!!
