if your oil level is to high it will do this. i would drain and refill the oil to oem specs slowly as not to overfill so it doesn't blow over the top of the piston.hope this helps

If the float don't float, the needle valve stays open and gas runs into crankcase.

If float floats (has no gas inside) then the needlel is probably worn and needs replacement.

SOURCE: I have a Briggs and Stratton 18hp Vanguard V twin

Your engine is building up too much pressure in the crankcase and it is being blown back through the breather and into the air intake system. The most probable cause is worn or broken piston rings and/or worn cylinders. The repair would entail an engine top overhaul and a thorough inspection of the cylinders and replacements as necessary.

Check in your user manual and see what weight of oil you should use in your engine. If the weight of oil is too low it will let it burn pass the rings and the valves. I use Briggs & Stratton 30 SAE oil in all my engines. If the engine is old you may have to do a valve job or clean the valves and head which do carbon up and need to be cleaned from time to time.

Murray lawn mower model number m20300 trying to locate carberator

Murray M20300 is produce by Husqvarna (HOP) group. Its product number should be 96114002702. It uses a Briggs and Stratton engine model number 9T602-5019-B1.

The carburetor PN is 795475 which include the 795083 diaphragm and gasket. This diaphragm and gasket is most problem found when the carburetor fails to operate. Considering the cost of the carburetor kit it is just cost effective to purchase the whole carburetor replacement kit.

You can purchase from online vendors that sells Briggs and Stratton parts or purchase local from a local shop that deals with Briggs and Stratton engines.

Just replaced head gasket, now has to much compression and won`t wind over fast enough to start. have had starter checked and seems ok .10.5 hp briggs and stratton motor in a murray 32 inch ride on lawn...

A head gasket will not greatly increase the compression in a a Briggs motor.

My question is Why did it need a head gasket to begin with?
Will bet it was not running...

A more likely cause if not a fuel problem is to check engine oil if that is good remove the wire from the low oil sensor and see it it will start up for you.

Murray riding mower 12.5 hp briggs & stratton spitting oil & gas out of carb & muffler when trying to start

Drain oil... it is full of gasoline due to a bad float pin and rubber gromet in your carb. When your float pin and gromet fail, gas just keeps flowing into your carburetor, eventually flooding your motor with gas and oil mix.
