16,5 murray 98 modle how do you change the head gasket, remove & replace i'm getting fuel in my oil crankcase.'' it boggs down and blows out smoke, i drain the crankcase put new oil in and it does it again.'' i'm told it is my head gasket.'' how hard is it to pull off and replace.''

if your oil level is to high it will do this. i would drain and refill the oil to oem specs slowly as not to overfill so it doesn't blow over the top of the piston.hope this helps

If the float don't float, the needle valve stays open and gas runs into crankcase.
If float floats (has no gas inside) then the needlel is probably worn and needs replacement.

Your engine is building up too much pressure in the crankcase and it is being blown back through the breather and into the air intake system. The most probable cause is worn or broken piston rings and/or worn cylinders. The repair would entail an engine top overhaul and a thorough inspection of the cylinders and replacements as necessary.

Check in your user manual and see what weight of oil you should use in your engine. If the weight of oil is too low it will let it burn pass the rings and the valves. I use Briggs & Stratton 30 SAE oil in all my engines. If the engine is old you may have to do a valve job or clean the valves and head which do carbon up and need to be cleaned from time to time.
