While Amana oven in general 375 degree use, the broiler comes on and then will not shut off and then F2 flashes, but I checked the temp sensor and its reading 1095 ohms

Have you changed the oven sensor. If you have the problem is with the main oven control. Let's hope sensor for cost.

The f2 code means that the oven temp sencer needs to be replaced.

sounds like only the broiler is working which comes on low during bake cycle. unplug or turn off breaker, remove bake element and check for continuity or take to someone who can.

Note: Also see fan thermal switches - Indicates that oven is over temperature in one of the following modes within either a cooking or clean mode of operation.
· Control senses oven temperature above 650 degrees F with the door circuit in the unlock mode.
· Control senses oven temperature above 935 degrees F with the door in the locked mode.
· Stalled cooling fan or airflow problem.

· Look for welded relay contacts. (Heating elements on in off mode).
· Look for open thermal switch in lock motor circuit. Switch is normally closed and will open if area overheats due to fan not operating. Look for cause - fan thermal switch not closing, fan stalled, etc.
· Look for high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit due to high contact resistance (poor terminal crimp, deformed terminals, loose connection) or intermittent solder joint on control or intermittent oven temperature sensor.

Replace the temperature sensor.

It is a oven temp too high code...check thrmeostat connection if ok, try unplugging or disconnecting power aprox. 1 min try again if F2 comes up again need to replace sensor

F2 Oven temp sensed; over 600F sensed by control in time of day mode, bake mode, or over 900F sensed in clean mode. Ohm test the oven temperature sensor, if OK, change power relay board. F2 Oven too hot Replace relay board (if present) or oven temperature sensor

The F2 is the code for the board seeing a temp higher than 600 degrees. It could be one of two things. The temp sensor is out of range, extreme high resistance. If you ohm it out it should read approx 1100 ohms at room temp. The other would be a welded bake relay on the board itself. Check the temp sensor first. If you are getting the F2 in the cleaning cycle, check the temp sensor, welded clean cycle contacts on the board or both contacts on the lock switch are closed at the same time. jaz3133, it's probably the temp sensor that has gone bad. You should be able to get it from the front. It's the probe that comes out from the back wall of the oven. You can have someone ohm it out. Should read approx 1100 ohms at room temp. Part number for the temp sensor is WB20K5040. Make sure power is off befor removing the sensor. Catriver..post back.
