A member of your team said to replace the main board which I did, and now the tv turned on momentarily, made a click and turned off. Now it will not turn on at all. There is a constant flashing led light. Could it be the AV board? or the power board? Or could the main board that I purchased be bad, since it is doing something totally different than the main board that I had. Thanks.

You should contact Sharp to find out where you can send the set for factory service for your area. They work by territories. The local repair tech would not normaly be trained and equiped to service this type of set.
The fault can be on a number of boards, including the main processor, or the matrix drive, or right on the backplane of the screen. The boards interact with each other and talk to each other using their own processors and a data buss. The backplane of the screen is using enbeded technology for the LCD drive itself.
Trying boards on a guess will end up being much more costly than sending the set out and having it proberly serviced. Also, at home you would not be able to perform any of the factory level adjustments if necessary.

It's a power supply related problem. When it turns itself off, this it called protection mode. The TV automatically turns off to protect other parts form being damaged.
The most common problem is the Power Supply Unit or the Backlight Inverter Board.
You may have to take the TV to a repair shop to find out which one is bad. Paying a repair shop to replace the board for you maybe more than the TV is worth. If you let them diagnose it and you replace the bad circuit board yourself, it would be cheaper.
Here's a place I use to get parts for TVs:
http://www.shopjimmy.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=LC-26D43U&p=1
The problem is the repair shop may charge you double or three times of what the part costs at the web site link above. Then, plus labor. I just want to save you money. :)

I would recommend Shopjimmy.com.
Parts are at reasonable prices. Compare with the prices at Partstore.com and you'll see what I mean.

Voltage checking and caps inspection will be the first thing to do.
If you can post the pictures, that will help a lot. Look at the inverter board to see if you are getting 12~18vdc feeding it, also look for caps with leaking/bulging top.
