I was watching the T.V. one night and all of a sudden the picture Just shrunk down to a small dot in the center of the screen and the sound stayed on like normal.Then the dot Fadded away. We all thought it was somthing to do with the show we were watching but to no avail we discovered it was not the show at all. This is my second RCA that took a dump. Is it me or just the brand of TV i have been selecting. Maybe I should go to the *** TV"s

I'm having the same problem. It appears to be some sort of programming issue. Unplug the set for a few minutes, then go through the setup procedure when you plug it back in. This will work for a while, if anyone has a permanent solution please post it.

This indicates a problem in the power supply either the low voltage switching supply or the High voltage power supply. The sounds you hear is the shutdown circuit activating, I would not suggest that you try to repair this problem because of the dangers involved. I would suggest that you take it to a qualified TV repair shop. This problem should not cost you much, however it is the best choice for the problem you described.

the tv has one part of the power supply working this is needed to have the microcontroller ready to work. But the tv needs more than that for work im talking 'bout the high voltage power supply who is now damaged. the parts required depends on the diagnosis in the bench but at least two are needed. the cost of this repair of course depends in how many parts are going to be replaced, but i concider this repair kind of average in this technology.
