SOURCE: Just put 2gb sd card

on a kodak you can also copy your internal photos to card-go to menu and find menu highlight that says storage or something like that and change setting to use card first-when the camera has a card in it it will usuallt default to card first

i know this is late, but my camera had the same problem.
1. If you go in the setup menu.
2. Push the right button once and scroll down to the menu that says format.
3. It will ask you if you want to erase all data.
4. Select No and everything should be fine.

Vivitar dvr 410v3

According to the manual this is al you get:

  • Digital Video Camera
    TV cable
    Strap
    Built-in USB connector
Vivitar Experience Image Manager software Installation CD
    User`s Manual

So as with most camera a SD card is not included.
You can choose a SD card or a SDHC card up to 16 GB. The 16 GB could be the max, because in the days this camera came on the market there were no bigger cards. Perhaps a 32 GB SCHC will work too.
Please don't try to put in a SDXC card, because the camera will almost certain not recognise a SDXC card.

SD Card Problems with Vivitar Vivicam 5118!

What size is the memory card. If it's larger than 4GB then it won't work in the 5118.
Try using another card. Don't format it in your computer but do format it in the camera before trying to take pictures.

Can you use SDHC when manual says SD?

An SDHC card is not an SDHC card. While it fits into the same slot, it will not work unless the device is designed to also work with SDHC cards. SD cards go up to 2GB in size, SDHC cards go from 4GB to 32GB in size. Unfortunately, Vivitar seems to be a little fuzzy on the distinction between the two.
In your particular case, you should be able to use any SD card, or any SDHC card up to 16GB in size.

You can download the manual from the manufacturer's web site at

The camera needs a memory card in order to save pictures. You can take pictures without one and view them on the screen, but those pictures are lost when you turn the camera off.

Is saying sd card is full but when i put the card on the computer it says the sd card is empty how do i get it to work?

Most probably, the Camera might not detected the inserted SD card. Please find the option to format the memory in the Camera and perform. If not check whether the SD card is compatible with the Camera.. Otherwise, use a compatible one.

Did this camera come with a disk for my computer? It is my kids and I don't know.... I purchased a memory card and it still says.. memory full please insert card. can you take pictures w/no memory card?

Here is a link to the user's manual for your camera:

http://vivitar.com/products/13/VC8025%20User%20Manual.pdf

It mentions a CD with a program you can use to manage your programs, but to me, it doesn't sound necessary to be able to get photos off your card.

If it is a brand new card, look at it before you put it into the camera to see if you might have accidentally put it in locked mode. If it is unlocked, see if you can format the card from within the camera (refer to p. 23-24 of the manual).

If it is not a new card, connect the camera to a computer and see if you can download any pictures already on the camera, and clear the card out.

And no, you will not be able to take pictures without a memory card.

Good luck, and feel free to ask for more help.

I just inserted 4GB Memory card and took only one picture. I keep getting error message "Memory card is full, insert a SD Memory Card to Transfer and take more photos".

http://www.vivitar.com/products/19/ViviCam%205018%20User%20Manual.pdf

Is the manual, and you need to refer to pages 6 and 7.

If you still have problems, you should contact Vivitar support. This should not be a problem since the camera automatically switches to the SD card when inserted.
