Solve your problem this way, but you have to use another computer to do this

Download a CD called Error Rescue Disk (ERD) from Microsoft Website. Get the one that is compatible with your operating system. For example, if you are running Windows 7, get ERD for Windows 7 etc.
Burn the Image to a CD and put the CD in your laptop and restart it. The computer will automatically boot form the CD. Wait until the CD has fully loaded its components. You will notice that the CD has an interface like a Windows operating system. Just click on start, and go to Administrative tools/ Microsoft Diagnostic tools/ depending on which ERD you are using.

Then here you are going to find "Locksmith".... that will take you thruogh the steps of resetting the administrators account and create a new one. Restart your computer and all should be well. Mind you, you are going to use the newly created password....

• In the "System" folder there's a file called "MMCSTORE",
• Send that to your PC using IR/Bluetooth,
• Then open it in notepad.
• The password you need for your memory card is in that file

You don't need to pay acer the 100usd to get the password removed, 
one thing you can try first, is to disable the elock service from 
start -> run -> type in services.msc
look for elock service right click properties startup type disabled and stop the service, on some elocks this is enought to stop it from working. but it debends I can fix this and I have done it many times now..
