Averatec remote control stopped working - Averatec Remote Control

If you reset machine to factory default, there is no password necessary. Appears you have a bad drive.

Did CompUSA reinstall the infrared sensor that sits on the unit? If you only took them the tower then they probably did not re-install it. This device should plug into the USB port on the back of the computer. From what I remember it is an inch square device that is black with a cord (possibly multiple) coming out the back. If this device is plugged into the computer, then check to see if it is installed in device manager.

Install a webcam software in your computer - there are several - use Google to search. Check with the Averatec website if they have one for your webcam to download and install. Also, you can access the webcam through the Control Panel with Window's generic application.

get another ac adapter or check if the power dc jack is loose.

go to the Averatec support driver page and download new drivers for the USB. Sometimes these are listed as "chipset" drivers, which is a set drivers bundled into one.

Your new install of Windows will be using generic drivers. You need to update to the specific touchpad drivers. Download them from Trigem (Averatec is a brand name owned by trigem) http://www.trigem.com/us/support/drivers.asp

The volume controll can be replaced by a service techo or yourself. Make sure it is an exact replacement.

Which is not working the wireless or the wired? Both drivers were listed on the Averatec web site.

maybe your external monitor is faulty.
old monitors usually have color problem.
try with a good working monitor.
then you will know if it is the monitor or you external port problem.
