Touch Screen Not Working
Try holding down the power button for about 20 seconds, this should hard reset the phone/tablet.
Dissplay not working
I had the same problem on one that I bought, that was used. You have to take out all of the little grey plugs and remove the screws underneath them. My cables were all fine. I had a connection inside the monitor area, near the top. There is a ribbon cable with a flat, wide plug on it. I had to uncompress the sides of the plug & jack. It cured the problem. About 4 months after I had it working, I found out the previous owner used to pick it up by the screen.
My touch pad will not
Sounds like the driver didnt get installed back onto your computer correctly. If you go here:
http://www.trigem.com/us/support/drivers.asp and download the one that says touch pad and install it. You may need to get a external mouse in order to install and complete these actions in order to get your laptop mouse working again!
Best of luck!

Remove dvd drive
Get a paper clip and straighten half of it out. Now look for a small hole in the face of the DVD drive.
If the drive is Trayless then there should still be a small hole in the dvd location..If the DVD has a tray make sure that the laptop is powered down, insert the Paper clip in to this hole and the DVD tray will pop open.. If the DVD inserts in to the drive(Trayless), Then make sure the laptop is on and insert in to the hole that will be in this same area.

You have the open completely your laptop, to the main board. Then you will see like a watch battery, that is the cmos battery. There isn't any other way to do this.

Cracked screen computer working
Okay heres the thing, look up your model number on your laptop and check the model number in google, after you find your laptop look for a site that offers replacement parts, depending on the year of the laptop you can relativily pick up a screen for cheap, simply pull the small tabs that hold your plastic keyboard in place and lift it out gently (you dont want to damage the keys); then take apart the laptop as needed depending on the model it might only be two screws holding it in and you may not have to remove anything else, so anyway after you get past the hardware and gently dismantle your laptop, just remove screws and screen connector from motherboard (be sure to not touch motherboard or have it on any surface that might give you electrostatic discharge) which would fry your laptop. Then just swap out smashed screen for newly ordered screen and reassemble, not very difficult! Hard to give you any more info not knowing model or anything!! Good luck!!
My Averatec C35009 has had
I believe the problem is the CD drive. You may be able to clean the cd with a cotton cloth and water.
I recommend you to clean the lens of the CD drive using a q-tip and some alcohol. Clean the lens carefully and let it dry.
If it doesn't work after the cleaning, you may need to try with an external CD drive (if available).
Here is how the lens looks like:
