Compaq presario c304nr device manager shows problem with SM Bus Controller

I have downloaded all available drivers and software for my model, but still shows in device manager "SM Bus Controller" someone please help! this is driving me nuts. thanks

Usually it is the chipset ,,, update chipset's driver

Having major problems finding SM bus controller and Video controller drivers for presario V2000 notebook

these drivers are available from Compaq website, look under support and downloads for your model. Should be free.

SM BUS CONTROLLER NO INSTALLED

to install SM BUS controller driver you need to install chipset driver of your motherboard. It is also used to install Audio devices. Go to the compaq website and look for your make model and install the requied driver

what exactly is the model number ? C700 is not enough

it might be C700 CTO or C700EM or C700ET

have a look at the exact model number on the back side of the laptop

Driver probem

the smbus controller holds the driver for ur audio device so first try to set the smbus controller driver
if it again shows a ? mark in device driver nothing happenns just make a forced installation of ur audio driver
