SCE4340B JENN AIR SLIDE IN ELCTRIC RANGE

Clock did not work. replaced clock. it works fine. but after setting selector switch to clean and thermostat to clean, pulling lever lock to right and pushing set button twice, the elements do not come on for the clean cycle.
not in auto or in delayed. auto is illuminated on clock, but unit just does not seem to heat up.

all other functions work properly. bake, broil, convection, temperatures,
glass top w/ radiant heat, clock, oven light, circ fan and conv. fan.

it looks like a small black box attached w/ 2 screws to the back of the t-stat has gone bad. it is about 1/2 inch x 1/2 inch x 1 1/2 inches lng
with one lead to one of the door interlock micro switches and one to the lock/oven/clean indicator light. what is it for? thermal overload? where can i get one. so far i have only found it attached to the t-stat for $150+.
....any one else know of other resource?
indicator light

ja_question.gif Why are the oven indicator lights flashing? Answer: When power is first supplied to the appliance, a flashing time will appear on the display.
If a flashing time appears at any other time, a power failure has occurred. Press Cancel, and reset the clock if needed.
When the oven is not in use, the display shows the time of day.
If the indicator lights keep flashing after you have tried to reset the controls, then you may need to contact service person.

SOURCE: bake element burned out on

HI,
You should have 120 to the element when not in bake mode, while in bake mode you should have 220 - 240 volt. Sounds like you lost a relay to send the additional power to the element, or you have a High Limit thermostat which could be open. This is a safety device to protect the unit from over heating, this only goes if temperatures increase higher the safety levels, normally set about 200 degrees or so along the air flow channels. I would trace from the elements to the clock and find the missing source of current.
I hope this helps
Be safe with electricity......

I have a jenn-air electric down draft slide in range. I had a power outage and now stove top works fine but no display or oven functions not even oven light.

You will need to replace the control board (clock assembly) on your unit. I see this all the time with power surges and it takes the control board out. Your model is a discontinued one and the part may need to be a special order. Here is a link to the part, call the number that is on the page and I am sure they may get it for you.

Jenn air s136 stove won,t self clean

You've probably already read pages 34 through 37 of the owners manual for this oven. We had this stove in the house we bought and the owner wrote in his own directions, which seem to work fine:

1. Turn knob selector to clean.
2. Turn temp knob to clean.
3. Close and lock door.
4. Push enter button and turn dial clockwise to desired time.
5. Push enter button again.

You've probably already tried this, but just in case I figured I'd pass it along.
