Question about Samsung SyncMaster 910T 19" LCD Monitor

Syncmaster 910t blinks image perfectly once and goes back to black

I just got this samsung syncmaster 910t monitor that displays the image at full color with brightness but only for a fraction of a second and then goes black again. Power light is on and everytime I press the "source" button it blinks a small white square with "digital" written on it on the top left corner follow by the full image with "analog" on the top left screen again. Any suggestions? It seems to be an incredible screen and there is no way I could afford one of these so I would REALLY appreciate your help! Thanks!

Yes, it's a used monitor. I have done the flashlight test now and I can see the image displaying and all the front buttons are responding. I have opened it and all the capacitators seem intact and well welded. I don't have a tester now but I have ordered one. What should I check then? Thank you very much for your help by the way :)

Sure thing! In the board you can read P/N: BN44-00106B on the top corner and Model: PWI1704SG (B) Rev1.0 if that helps.

I have sent you some hi-res pics to your e-mail.

    Thanks for your help!

    P.S.: you are F A S T in answering! :)

Hello, did you ever fix this problem? I have the same model and after 4 years (3 is the maximum warranty service), one day, I booted up and the inverter went out. Still blinks my login screen once, but then goes black. The only difference is my PSU/inverter is listed as PWI1704SG(A) Rev 1.0.

Larger picture will help (I'm having a hard time seeing the plug to the
video board). What you have is a combination power-inverter board on
this monitor and a 4 bulb screen.

Can you post a picture somehewre or email me one.

That will give me a better idea as to what you actually have in that monitor.

I assume that this is a used monitor ?

Do you have the capabilities to open it up and a tester if needed for testing voltages ?

It sounds like a typical lcd monitor power- inverter board problem.

I've had same problem and I fixed it!
With good CCFLs, clean supplying voltages, all good capacitors and resoldered junctions, the backlight still turns on for fraction of second and goes off.
It is in the Power Supply / Inverter board. In the Inverter part there are two dual n/p-MOSFETS U3 and U4 (models STS7C4F30L, SO-8 packages). I've found they both have too high ON-Resistance (perhaps due to age and constant overheating). All you need to do is to replace them. I've checked many models and found closest by Rds and IDcont (continuous drain current) are IRF7389, you can find distributor by, but I've bought them at, they're cheap.
The hardest thing was to unsolder old chips, they are glued to PCB and because of overheated material under them, the copper could easily go apart. Therefore, the best is using fine tips cutters, cut off all legs one by one and then take chip body off the PCB and take legs from pads by iron. That's all you need. After that my monitor started working as new even with old CCFLs. Good Luck!

I found a site that sells your (our) part: Look up that model number for the power supply under "Part #" and it seems to run about $60-70. I'm probably going to order one and give it a shot as a drop in replacement.

ritchaddison, Problem could be inside monitor. If "cold-cathode-fluoresscent-lamps" fail to stay lit. problem might be the "electronic ballast" circuit needs work done on it. Also check the "switch-mode-power-supply" for typical failure modes that result in "black screen" complaints. Remember this!! Your monitor no different than any other brand of CCFL back-lit LCD display in it's basic design and operation. Software not problem. Monitor goes blank after 3 seconds -Samsung SyncMaster 920NW

Could be a power issue. If it doesn't show anything at all then that may be the case. It may also be the display itself. It would be a costly repair so you might be better off finding a new monitor.

SyncMaster 932B blinks, then screen goes black

Check all the connections and if they are all right and tight then the monitor is probably shot. The good news is that it can be repaired. It's usually around $50.00 to $80.00 to fix. Good luck!

A box stating not optimum mode-get distorted internet images

Sounds like your resolution is not set correctly.

Try going to Start-->Control Panel-->Display and choose the Settings Tab

Under there change the resolution slider bar to 1280x1024

Should do the trick!

Samsung SyncMaster 17" LCD Blacks out

If you have a second monitor, you could use your computer until the monitor goes black... then plug in a replacement monitor. My guess is that one will display black too...

My gut feeling is that your VGA card is on the fritz... I'm not convinced it's your monitor. Do you have a replacement VGA card you can try? I'll bet that'll take care of the problem.
