Auto adjustment box keeps popping up
Use best quality data cable directly from VGA card to LCD input and your problem will be fixed.
Usually that problem oocured when we use external tv device with CPU and monitor so signals gets weak and auto adjustment popups.

My samsung lcd monitor have a dim light.. i cant
It is possible that the monitor settings have changed. There should be a menu or settings button on the monitor. Try to increase brightness and decrease contrast.
Unfortunately, it is much more likely that your monitor is failing and needs to be serviced or replaced. Given the price of monitors replacement is probably the least expensive solution.

AUTO ADJUSTMENT LOCKED BOX FLASHES ON THE SCREEN ALL THE TIME.
Depends of what seems to be a problem.
If you want to get rid of that message box, appearing by itself, then probably you need to take front panel PCB with buttons and replace "Auto" one, 'cause it's stuck.
If you want to unlock an Auto Adjustment and other functions in your monitor, then press and hold 'Enter' button for 5 seconds.

Unable to turn off moniter
i finally just gave up and called samsung. 1-800-samsung
they took me through some steps to see if that would work. gave them model number, etc. there is some defect apparently in that model syncmaster731n. they are sending me a new one, and i have to send the old one back. they are paying for shipping, and not charging me for the new one. so if it is bothering you, i would give them a call and see what they tell you. hope this helps someone out there.

If you have a second monitor, you could use your computer until the monitor goes black... then plug in a replacement monitor. My guess is that one will display black too...
My gut feeling is that your VGA card is on the fritz... I'm not convinced it's your monitor. Do you have a replacement VGA card you can try? I'll bet that'll take care of the problem.

The connecting cable or the video card would be the first suspects. Try a different cable to connect the monitor first, if there is no change, the video card in the computer would be second to look at. Can simply connect a different monitor to your computer to troubleshoot this. If the testing monitor works, it will be the graphics card that is the issue.

Vga connection to the mother board
If your motherboard doesn't have a VGA connection, then that means it most likely does not have an integrated video card. If this is the case, then you will have to purchase and install a video card. It is very easy and your local Best Buy should be a great resource. The geeks there are usually very enthusiastic about explaining how to do it.
