Bosch psb 600 drill will not reverse

When reverse slide switch activated drill does not reverse, works perfectly well in forward position

  • Anonymous Oct 26, 2008

thanks again for the advice, on this drill Bosch use a rotary switch fitted around the commutator actuated by the red slide switch to reverse the polarity of the supply in order to achieve both forward and reverse. Drill had been used in a particularly dusty atmosphere, so a spray of WD 40 cleaned electical contacts of this rotary switch enabling both forward and reverse to be achieved.

    Thanks again

The red button sits on a lever that changes the polarity of the switch output. If this lever feels loose and you can't feel it engaging anything then you need to split the housing and make sure it is seated properly. If it is, and the lever on the switch is moving fine aswell then you should check all the wires coming out of the switch, and if they are all connected properly you will prob need a new switch.

Psb 480 re Bosche drill Help - I accidentally turned the drill on without a drill bit in it and now I can't see the clamp bit than tightens to hold the drill bits. What I have done!!

I would put the drill in reverse and hold the "chuck" and very slowly and carefully press the trigger lightly. This should bring the clamping device back where you can see it.

I took my Impactor Bosch 23618) to get a warranty repair. I did not use it for about 2 weeks after it was fixed only to discover that it spins contrary to the direction of the switch(reverse when it should...

sounds like they replaced the switch or motor and reversed the leads. What you would have to do is open up the drill case and change the wires. LOOK and make a note of where the wires are at now, check to see if you can see any indication of the positive wire from the motor and see if the switch has a similar notation. I would not think it would be more than that.

I have a Bosch PSR12 12V Cordless drill, but no instructions.

This drill has a keyless chuck. Put your bit in the chuck and hold the collar of the chuck while pressing the trigger in the forward position. To undo the chuck do this in reverse. You can also hand tighten the keyless chuck if you prefer. I have a 1/4' adapter that I keep in my drill so I can change bits quickly.

Bosch 1199vsr stopped working while drilling through concrete. The reverse works. Help

your tool should have a rotating reversing switch and the contacts for the forward rotation might be dirty or burnt. I would unplug the tool and remove the screw holding the back handle half on and look to see if anything is burnt or just dirty or bent. If you have an air compressor try blowing thru all areas of the tool. Let me know if this doesn't work you can also go to Boschtools.com and type in your model number on the left hand side after clicking on manuals.

BOSH PSB 600 RES drill will not restart

Hi, Sounds like you have a pinched wire somewhere. When you say you somehow make it work are you bending the powercord, shaking the drill or what? Any of those things would suggest a pinched wire or broken switch. Make sure the switches for reverse and hammer work in both directions. You say it is relatively new and there is no smell so I would not suspect the brushes and it doesn,t sound like it is running long enough to overheat anyway. The best advice I can give you is that the drill needs to be opened and examined, and if you have an ohm meter check all of the connections from the power cord to the trigger. If you don't feel comfortable with that then you may want to return it under your warranty or you may want to do that anyway. Good Luck!
