two of the plates have broken, the plastic nipple that holds the plates to the handle have broken off. therefore, the plates do not stay connected to the bar. will bowflex send me new plates? can i send them back and have those plates repaired? or do i have to purchase replacement plates, if so, please share...thanks!

You will require a steering column lock-plate tool to compress the spring-loaded lock-plate and then you can remove the lock-plate securing ring using either snap-ring/e-ring pliers or by using two small screwdrivers to pry the lock-plate securing ring off of the steering shaft. Here are some images to assist you, and at most auto part stores you can purchase a lock-plate tool or rent one, and some will even loan them to you if you have purchased a part from them, and also note in the image that the lock-plate securing ring is being removed using a screwdriver if the proper snap-ring pliers can not be obtained. It might also be necessary to remove the screws securing the turn-signal switch and position it out of the way to access the ignition tumbler retaining screw, and let me know if you require any further assistance.

I'm not sure why they would have sent you here, but, when it comes to microwave plates, they can often reach an expensive price when purchasing on their own, if and when you can find somewhere that sells them.
My suggestion is keep an eye out for any dis-carded microwaves that may have glass plates in them still or to contact the manufacterer to purchase a new plate, but be prepared to be met with a high cost

this is called your skid plate, it is there in case you run over a curb or something of the sort, these things are rather flimsy and tend to brake easily, check to see if the holes where the skid plate's should be located are broken. If this is the case a cheap fix that gets the job done would be to purchase some zip ties and secure the skid plate with those. The other two alternatives would be to either purchase a new skid plate, or remove your skid plate and bank on not running over any curbs :) good luck!
