My Dyson started making a loud noise like there was some obstruction near the roller. After cleaning thoroughly it still made the noise, I thought maybe it was slippage in the belt or the roller was broken somehow, so I replaced both these parts. While I was fixing things up I cleaned the filter, the whole inside of the shield that houses the roller, and I cleaned out the hoses and things that go to the canister. After all this, the noise has lessened a little but it is still making an unusual and loud noise. It only makes the noise when the roller is going. Even though it makes this wierd noise it still vacuums well. I also tried taking the belt off to see if it still makes the noise when the vacuum is in carpet mode with no roller (like maybe its the clutch or the motor), and with the roller unattached it doesn't make the noise. When it is set for hard floors there seems to be some high-pitched whistling that I don't remember hearing before. But it still seems to maintain the vacuuming force. It doesn't make the other loud noise. I'm pretty much out of ideas here, without starting to replace more expensive parts. Any ideas??
