Acer TravelMate 4150LCi

Hello,
somebody please tell me what to do.my acer travelmate 4150lci is formerly booting. But if i don't select it to boot from the hard-drive quickly,it will go off.To explain better,i can't enter window xp setup to do anything. Now,i deleted this file[window root\system32\hal.dll] in the process of find a solution myself and cannot even load the OS.I try to do acer eRecovery to load manufactural configuration by pressing F10,but this problem of my system going off while booting [except i quickly select it to load the operating system] will not let it work.i guess the system should remain ON for me to take my time to decide whether to enter window xp OR window xp setup.Do i need to change the RAM OR BIOS CHIP or HARD-DRIVE.please help!!!!!!!!!!!
