When i dial modem it no sound,i can't know it work or not work help me please

Your dial-up relies on the internal modem to be working properly.

Check for your modem status using Device Manager.

If the listing for the modem has any yellow or red highlighting, then the modem software or hardware needs to be changed.
If you leave your PC plugged into a phone line, internal modems are easily destroyed by lightning storms or surges in the phone line.
If the Device Manager looks okay, then call your Internet Service Help Desk.

Check the modem dial settings, it may be set to pulse, change it to tone.

Try to make a new connection shortcut and make sure your telephone line is properly connected on your modem. Also make sure that your password and username is correct. another thing is check that your system date is correct.. Hope this works ! ITTech7574

The modem settings can be accessed through the windows control panel as follows:

•Opening the Control Panel
The Windows Control Panel can be opened by:
Selecting *Start > Control Panel (on Windows Vista)
- OR -
Start > Run > Type 'Control' and select OK (on Windows XP)

In the Control Panel, do the following:
•Select Phone and Modem Options (Brings up the phone and modems properties sheet)
•Click on the 'Modems' tab
•Highlight the modem's name
•Click the properties button
•Look for the words 'Device Status' on that page.
If the message box says 'This device is working properly' then the modem is working ok. The Phone and Modem Options also has a tab called 'Dialing Rules'. The dial tone might work if you 'Edit' the existing Dialing Rule or Create a 'New' Rule. When you 'Edit' or create a 'New' rule, enter the requested information as best you can. You can always go back and 'Edit' the rule to keep testing it. I hope this gives you some ideas for resolving the dial tone problem.

I am not familiar withat Nokia suite. Do you know if it is dial up or DSL? When you press that button, do you hear white noise and then a dialing sound?

If this does not solve all your problems, please reply.

You say you dont have a modem....but you want to connect via dial up?

Well ok, you need to do the following:

1. Contact an ISP (people like Virgin, Tiscali, TalkTalk, etc etc etc)
2. Sign up for the package you want.
3. They will send you a modem. It wont be for dial up but broadband.
4. Connect it and off you go.

However, if you REALLY want to use the internet using dial up you will have to go find an old cheap dial up modem.
BT, Tiscali and a few others do let you use a pay per min rate for dial up, but their is no one I know of that lets you get on line for nothing at all.

The only other service I have heared of was here:

And even they charge 1p per min.

So if I were you.... go broadband as its faster and in the long run, cheaper.

Sounds like what you have is the old Dial up modem which is now not used very much. This is a cheaper internet option but with saying that it is very slow for internet use. I would not recommend this and just ignore that it exists.

here's some help...go to : start menu,all programmes,accessories,communications and to hyper terminal..type in test, and click o.k.,make sure all the settings are o.k., type in your mobile or your second land line number to test if the modem dials that number.if that test works then contact your i.s.p to check on your account.

unsolder the speaker, its the black can with the hole in it. No other method unless it attaches to the sound card via a cable.

hmm..well..this maybe as simple as the phone number setting in your dial up application..do you have call waiting or voicemail on that line? You may need to set the phone dialer to compensate for that issue.
