Who is your email provided by? AT&T? Yahoo? Hotmail? Gmail?
You need to go to www.google.com and in the search box type your provider and search for the settings that should go with outlook express. For example if my email is provided through Yahoo. I would type in the search box "yahoo mail and outlook express". You will see how to configure the PoP3 and SMTP for sending and receiving mail through outlook.
Before doing all that it just seems like your problem might be that you have the wrong password in the outlook setup for PoP3. Edit your settings in Outlook and make sure you have the correct password. I think you click tools or edit when you have outlook open to get to the email accounts and edit the settings. Do this first and you can test it to see if it is working.
I do not like Outlook, it is not good, I choose to use IncrediMail, I think it is good, you can try this, reset the details, and it will not appear that problem. You can get it here: http://softsbay.com/download/IncrediMail-3418.html
There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Account: 'pop.mail.yahoo.com', Server: 'pop.mail.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR [SYS/PERM] pop not allowed for user.', Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92
make sure your password is correct because this error description states that your password is incorrect
make sure you POP3, and SMTP setting are correct...with who ever your email provider is. If you have hotmail, it should auto configure for you with there http protocol settings for sending and receiving mail.
Can you reinstall the Outlook express may solve this issue. I do
remember recently Microsoft released some new patches for Outlook
Express may resolve this issue
You are receiving this error because of one of two reasons:
1) Your email account is not set up properly. Click on Microsoft Outlook, click on Tools, then Accounts. You will see a window with columns stating Account-Type-Connection. If an account is set up then click on it then click on Properties. Click server tab and you will see the SMTP server block and the POP3 server block. Both of these fields will read as follows: pop.XXXXX.net and smtp.XXXXX.net. Your Internet Service Providers name will be in the XXXX. If these are not set up properly then you cannot connect to send email. If they are filled out correctly then you need to call your Internet Service Provider and inform them of your situation. Their server is not working properly.
Tried to take backup of messages was not able to copy the dbx files - Rename folders.dbx - Was able to send/receive messages without any error May not able to retreive some messages in sent items, deleted items folder
Incorrect account settings.Remove your account and create new one in outlook.Check if u have installed any antivirus or firewall program blocking this.
Sounds like it's self explanatory. Perhaps Hotmail is no longer free for Outlook Express. If you would like to use Outlook Express as your defautl email client and use a POP3 based email account, may I refer you to www.hotpop.com? You can apply for a free POP3 email account which you can set up to run with your Outlook Express. You may also want to check into www.gmail.com. They support web based inboxes as well as POP3 configuration for your Outlook Express.
same with me
