Hi there

Settin TV to AV

Look at your remote for a button called "input options" and press that button while watching your screen to see the various choices available. Everytime you press that button, you should see a change on the screen from one choice of input method to the other. It should says things like "AUX, video 1, video 2, hdmi, AV - ect. Keep pressing that button until you see a picture of find the AV input method you want to keep and that should solve your problem.

No picture

Instructions
  1. 1 Make sure the power cord is properly plugged into a wall outlet if your TV is not powering on.
  2. 2 Make sure the video and audio cables connecting your TV to external devices are secure if you are experiencing a fuzzy picture or no picture.
  3. 3 Reset the parental password if you forgot the password and are unable to view certain programs. To do this, click "Menu" on your remote control and use the arrow keys to select "Parental Controls." Enter the master password, which is "4357" to reset the password.
  4. 4 Turn off the caption vision option if you are seeing a large black box on your screen. To do this, click the "Menu" button and select "Setup." Select "Caption vision" and press the "Plus" button on your controller to set the option to "Off."
  5. 5 Check the "TV/Video" setting if you're not getting a picture on your screen. You may have inadvertently selected a video input that isn't active. Press the "TV/Video" button on your remote to cycle through video inputs.
  6. 6 Alter the brightness settings if you are experiencing a poor picture or no picture. To do this, press "Menu" and select "Video." Increase the brightness settings to see if the picture begins to appear.

The tv had blue screen briefly showing "no signal" then turns off. ... and I am getting the same blue screen-no signal.

If your television is displaying a blue screen or no signal message and then turning off, your TV may be at an inactive input. Here's how you can get back to watching your TV:
1. Powering on your TV and press the INPUT button on the VIZIO remote control repeatedly until a picture re-appears.
2. If this does not work, try again but press the button slower this time.

I got this off the vizio website.

No Picture, No Sound While Watching

Resetting the TV
If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:

Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time.

3. Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds.
4. Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV.
