    Thanks Michael

Either holding down the F9 or F12 dont help. Had some reply saying reseating the RAM chips didnt help either. One did say changing the CMOS battery but just have to know where it is...lol.

My inspiron 1525 won't boot, the scroll light and caps lock blink

Remove 1 stick of ram and turn on, if no! take out the second one and put back the first, and power on, if okay you know the 1 stick is bad. Remove main battery and power on, "long shot" if no change chances are it is a motherboard issue.

Inspiron 1525 numlock and scroll lock blink constantly no boot up does not shut down.

The three lights flashing is the Dell error code, you can download a table of error codes if you google it.You have to count how many times each light flashes. a Three digit number error code. Then you can fix the computer.

In dell inspiron 1525 laptop, all light blinking but display not coming

If you mean that your Num lock , Caps lock, and Scroll lock LED's are all flashing then this indicates there is a problem with your motherboard.

Dell inspiron 2200 laptop - what are the 4 lights on top right of keyboard for? the first one is constantly blinking and the others are never lit up

Hi those are your keyboard and status lights

Looking at your laptop from the front the first light on your Right hand side is your scroll lock light and is only on when you press the scroll lock button (the symbol shows a lock with a little down arrow)

The light to the left hand side of that light is your caps lock light and again only turns on when you press the caps lock key (The symbol shows a lock with a A in it)

The light to the left hand side of that is your numeric keypad light (Symbol has a lock with a 9 in it), this comes on when you press the num lock key on your keybaord

Finally the last key is your hard drive light (like a cylinder), this will be flashing most of the time as you use your PC as it is constantly reading and writing data

The light thats a lock with the letter a starts blinking and it wont boot up. how do i fix this

The blinking light is just a status for the caps light. If the unit does not power on or boot , you may have
A) a low or bad battery, Take the battery out and try to power up just by plugging the unit into the outlet.

B) If that does not work, You may have a loose DC connector on the system board. Unplug the plug from the outlet, then slightly wiggle the connector at the back of the laptopwhere the adapter plugs in. If it moves , the connector is loose on the MLB.

The blue lights located above the keyboard indicate the following:

Turns on when the numeric keypad is enabled.

Turns on when the uppercase letter (caps lock) function is enabled.

Turns on when the scroll lock function is enabled.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
