Start up WinMX and go to Settings, then press the Setup Wizard button. When prompted to clear all previous settings, select No. Now you can click next through the screens (your previous information will still be there) until you get to this screen: Click on Cancel Test / Manually Configure. Click No. Do not use a proxy server for outgoing connections and then click Next. Enter 8888. Click Next. Enter 9999. Click Next. Finish the setup wizard. You will need to open (forward) 2 ports on your D-Link router. After you configure your router, you must restart the WinMX software. Step 1 Open your web browser and enter the IP address of your router (192.168.0.1). Enter username (admin) and your password (leave blank). Step 2 Click on Advanced and then click Virtual Server. Step 3 Create a new entry: Click Enabled. Enter a name (winmx). Private IP - Enter the IP address of the computer you are running WinMX from. Select TCP for Protocol Type Enter 8888 for both Private Port and Public Port Click Always or set a schedule. Step 4 Click Apply and then Continue. Step 5 Repeat steps 3 and 4 but name it winmx2, select UDP for Protocol Type, and enter 9999 for both Private Port and Public Port.

Please assist me as I previously had two Billon router connected to one network and this worked fine. Now I have two new routers one D-Link and the Other Net gear and I cannot seem to connect the two...

Take the second router out of the system and hook in a comptuter and see if you can communicate through that router. If you can then do the same for the other router. If you can get them to work independantly then hook them together and see if they work. Use the tracert command or ping to see if the protocol is getting through both routers. It can be difficult to set up both routers if one is not talking to the other one. You have to connect directly to the router that you want to change settings on.

If your planning to connect the phone adapter behind a router make sure that the following ports are open/forwarded on the router; UDP ports 5060-5061, UDP ports 16384-32767 take note that 5060 and 5051 one are SIP ports and must be assigned to the IP address of that was assigned to by the router to the adapter or the IP that was manually configured on it.

Internet connection lost when wireless printer added to network

for reseting the password of ur dlink router u have to press the rest button on the dlink router (genrallyit on the bottom or on the back of the router it is like a hole u have to use a pen or pin to reset the router back to its factory default settings after that password of the router will automatically back to admin or password login to ur router change the settings to static ip in the router so that u can provide the static ip of the other router to ur this router (example if primary router HL 2170 ip address is 192.168.1.1 then u will provide this dlink router the ip address as 192.168.1.5, subnet 255.255.255.0 default gateway 192.168.1.1 primary dns 192.168.1.1 now save the settings in the dlink router now the ethernet cable from ur other router will go directly in to the internetor wan port of this router. now connect wirelessly to any router both will work fine without any problem
