These sets have quit a complicated power supply and that is usually how they go. Everything is all good at turn off and then stop at next turn on. It could also be a horizontal/high voltage issue. It is hard to say as there are many probable causes. Thanks
Even with the tv turned off, the power supply is still active. It's supplying voltages to the microcontroler, that's why each time you press the power button on remote the tv respond by turning on. First check the power cord to be well connected in the power-bar and if it's ok...well the power supply is defective and due to the high risk of electric shock i suggest you to call a technicien.
P.S. I respond here because I don't know why our chat session got disconected.
Rca has been known to have bad solder joints in the deflection circuits. Usually around the flyback and transformers.. check it over real good. Just be careful as you can still get shocked after the powers removed the capacitors and picture tube will hold a charge in them.
