If you mean "1-over-x" then it's the key marked "x-superscript-negative-one" just right and below the big round cursor pad. If you mean "reciprocal sign" more commonly referred to as "negative" or "change-sign" then it's the key marked "(-)" two keys above the "7" key.

Find a calculator approximation for each circular function value. csc (-9.4946) The answer in the solutions manual is 14.3338 by imputing sin (-9.4946) = .0698 ans^-1 approx. 14.3338 ?

I am not sure if there really is a question here. The cosecant function is defined as the reciprocal of the sine function : csc(x)=1/sin(x)
You can calculate two ways. [ ] is a single key press, [(-)] is the change sign key.

csc(-9.4946)=1[/][sin] [(-)] 9.4946[)] [EXE]

The other way is to just calculate sin(-9.4946). the result will be stored in ANS memory. At this time, if you press the key [x^-1] you are calculating the reciprocal of the result stored in ANS.

Both methods yield the same result.

Casio fx-300es. How do you enter a variable? what button do you press to represent x in x+7=14 or any other problem with a variable. Everyone has a ti 84 and they have a button for x.

You have a way to enter the Variables A, B,C,D, Y and X.
Use the ALPHA key
For A use ALPHA change sign key (-), below the Fraction Template.
For B use ALPHA (degree ' ")
For C use ALPHA (HYP)
For D use ALPHA (SIN)
For X use ALPHA right )
For Y use , ALPHA (S-D) key
For =, use ALPHA and the key below the SHIFT key. May be marked CALC. The = is in the same color as the ALPHA on calculator. It should be to the upper right side of a key.

(I have an FX-991ES that is compatible with the FX-300ES, but since I do not have a picture of the FX-300ES calculator I cannot be more specific than I have been, lest I mislead you.)

How do I put an = sign between eqasions? ie... 8x+7=5x-11

The calculator has two = signs,
  1. the = sign to execute a command, located at the right corner of keypad
  2. the = sign to insert in an equation.
This last one is accessed by pressing [ALPHA][CALC] (=). On the Casio FX-991 ES the [CALC] key is located on the top left corner of keypad.
