This usually happens due to a bad connection between the PC and the monitor. Make sure your video cable is tightly lugged in, if this is not the problem the drivers are probably faulty, revert to your old monitor and reinstall the drivers and try again. If the problem still persists then call LG technical support.

Set your computer to 800 by 600 by 60 Hertz video-resolution.
Connect the monitor, to see if it supports these settings.
Then, try 1024 by 768, and try 1280 by 1024, and try 1366 x 768 resolution,
to see which looks best.
Take it to an audio/video repair store, and get an estimate of how much it would cost to repair;
it may be cheaper to just give it to them, for responsible recycling, than to pay them to repair it.
Not able to use full screen
Hello,
This sounds like bad resolution is set on your computer. The LG 22" FLATRON monitor has a native resolution of 1680 x 1050. However, your video card may not support this so you can also try any other 16:10 resolution like 1440 x 900.
To change your resolution in Windows XP:
1. Access the Control Panel.
2. Choose "Display".
3. Click the "Settings" tab.
4. Under "Screen resolution" move the slider to a 16:10 resolution like 1680 x 1050 or 1440 x 900.
If you computer does not support higher resolutions, you may consider replacing your video card to take full advantage of your nice 22" Flatron monitor.
If I can further assist you, please let me know.

Try changing the Resolution for the lowest one, if it works it will see the letters and everything very big. I have same trouble, specially since I change the original Vista Starter for the new Windows 7, I have not found a free controler that helps me and I have seen many people with same the problem. Sorry for my english.

On laptops, there is a key combination that will allow you to toggle between laptop screen, external monitor, or both. Look for a "Function" key, or FN. The location will vary, but I have seen it usually on the same row as the spacebar. Hold that down and look in the Function Keys row (F1, F2, etc.) and find the one with an icon of a screen (on my laptop, it's the F4 key). Hit the function key, and it should cycle through the three modes I mentioned above.
Good luck.

sound like a loose connection, check all your cables and make sure they are securely attached to your computer and also the back of your monitor, if problem persist try going to the degauss menu and degauss the monitor, check to see if your color settings are properly configured, also check the color temperature. If none of these suggestions worked your monitor may have a more server problem, hope this helps, best of luck
