On and off cycleing could be caused by a bad power supply or a low battery on your remote. Check them both out. Good luck.

Dual Monitors - why does my second monitor have bad picture?

As long as something isnt broken, using the HDMI and the D-Sub should be fine. From your fuzzy pictures I suggest that you want to double-check your cables. Have you tried to switch it? If you put the second monitor on the D-SUB and the picture is still faulty, its very likely the problem is your monitor.

Hi there. In the Control Panel>Accessibility>DisplayIf the high contrast box is checked, uncheck it.When you say in "Add program", where is that exactly? Under Display in the Accessibility window I only see High Contrast Options andCursor Options. Did you maybe change a program in the Control Panels "Add or Remove Programs" section? It's either thatoryour monitor may be entering power saving mode. This problem could be that your Power Options in the Control Panel have been switched to "switch off the component ever now and then to save power". To change this, do the following:1) Navigate to the Control Panel by clicking Start and then Control Panel. Then double click on Power Options as shown below circled in red.slasher_x_14.jpg2) This will then display the Power Options window as shown below.slasher_x_16.jpg3) Once you have opened the Power Option Properties, under Power Schemes select the one that best suits your PC system.slasher_x_15.jpg4) Then you can select whether or not to switch off your monitor and/or hard drives after a period of time when it is not being used.If you have your PC on most of the time then I suggest you select Never as the turn off option for both your hard drive and monitor. If you are using a laptop the turning off the hard drive and screen can however save on battery power when the laptop is not in use.If your problem persists then it might just be as simple as a loose connection, make sure that your monitor display plug is correctly plugged into your display card or onboard display correctly.Let me know how it goes.~Slasher_X

Perhaps this is a resolution problem. Try to change the screen resolution. Also, you can move the game to the second screen to help find out why it is acting like this.

I have an LG 21" monitor. The screen went blank

Without the model number, it is not possible to research this issue. However... My first suspect would be with the software driver. Some system settings do not like to be oscillated too quickly. (I.E.Going in and out of sleep mode for the computer too quickly, or to and from power save for the monitor too rapidly.) This was a problem especially for older versions of windows. (Vista and prior.) Increase power-save to more than 5-10 mins, and check for driver updates. Being that you were able to get it running without unplugging or turning off the monitor, I do not believe it is a monitor issue. (Outside of the RARE possibility of a hardware or firmware conflict between the monitor and video card/chip set.)

Dear amy mcioynt,

Welcome, and thank you for using FixYa!

The issue you describe it caused by the video board going bad. All of the controls for video display, clocking, brightness, contrast, and input source is handled by this card.
They are replaceable, if you have the part number. Most of the time they range from $50 - $75

Have a great evening!

You will have then to open Device Manager, remove the display adapter driver, then reboot the computer.
Once Windows starts up again after the reboot, it will detect there was a hardware change due to removal of display adapter driver, & will ask for the driver's CD to install it from. Once this is done, everything will be back to normal.
