I would like to make a clarification request , before I present my possible solution to

your problem,


Does it happen on all TV inputs ? or just on the tuner?


Have you tried connecting the TV audio out to your AV Receiver or similar just

for initial troubleshooting?


If it happens to produce sound on your AV receiver , then Congrats...


you have just troubleshooted a large percentage on electronic circuits

inside the TV ( even without opening it up ).


I can post further , while I await for your answer , to resolve the problem

you are having and post if you can further DIY ( inside the unit )

The Cox cable box,work before?Talk to Cox cable customer seviced send u another box?Tries unplug the tv and the cable box,replug the tv and the cable box back an hour later.Tv should reset itself back to factory setting.The cable box should update it software.They might work,if they reset themselves.

ouple of thing to try
1. Disconnect the DVD player from the TV and see if the TV switches on and off OK - The DVD player might be overriding the TV's normal control.
2. Check that HDMI control is set to "off" for both the TV and DVD player. The TV will no longer switch on automatically when the DVD player is turned on, but that might be what's causing your problem.

Check the power supply module.

No they all are compatible with eachother no matter what brand tv,surrround sound. It is all in the hook up & without you stating how you have it hooked up,no way to tell because one siimple connection is all you r missing. You have it most way there if sound is ok on dvd.If you explain how you have it hooked up i can surley help you!!

HI:
Have the power supply and the inverters checked for swollen capacitors, this is the most common problem with no backlighting. Look for caps where the tops of them are puffy or swollen they all should be flat on their tops.

You can find a Base for this at www.partstore.com they should have the base for this.

It can be: power supply, main board, backlight inverter board. You will have to do troubleshooting, please read my guide to understand how LCD TV works.

Thanks for using FixYa. These kinds of issues usually occur after power surge. From what you have described it seems that a capacitor on the power supply board has gone bad which turns off the unit after it gets hot. To start with you can open the back of the unit and check the power supply board which is the board where all the power cords/plugs goes in. Check this board for blown/flat/bulged capacitors and replace them. Also check the main board which is the other board where the power cords goes into, as it works for around 3-4 minutes so the issue seems to be with a bad component not a board. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Just recently, I was told how to get another tv.
You find a good TV service centre and ask them to fix it. If they cant you take the work order from your tv sc and call 1-877-297-8391.
You will get yourself a tv

It can be because the backlight inverter is not getting the 24vdc from the bad power supply, or there are problem in the inverter circuits. They need to be look at.

audio out (RCA jacks) on the tv.....to audio in on home theater receiver

The power supply module will be the first place to look. Check for blown fuse, bad caps with leaking/bulging tops.

There is most likely a problem with your power board in the set, either a blown surface mount fuse or maybe the board itself (p/n 275553) which is no longer available.  A good technician should be able to repair it though.
