Try installing a new software program to play your DVDs. Also look for updated dvd player drivers from Acer site.

look for driverpack solutions 13 via google burn the iso ,start the system and put in the cd this will then scan your system and update your missing drivers.

If you show a Blue Screen, you have more problems then it not being able to turn off/shut down?? I would back out the battery so as to stop power from getting to it, AFTER you have it unplugged..then push battery back into to engage, plug the AC cord back into the PC. turn it back on and IF you still show a BLUE screen, you will need a tech to check it further...GOOD LUCK...

1. Turn on the computer, while it's loading, tap the F2 key to access BIOS. You may also try F10 if F2 is not working. 2. Go to Security, enter the password then change password. Do not type anything on the new password just press enter. 3. Save the changes.

Hi,
After shutting down, removing the power cord and the battery, turn the laptop upside down. About two-thirds of the back of the case is one removable lid. The lid retains its 9 screws. Remove the screws.


The RAM sticks are stacked square in the middle.
The RAMs are held by 2 clasps. Gently pull them outwards and the RAM would pop up to a 45 degree angle and you can pull them out easily. Note the cut at the bottom part of the RAM and place/ slide in the New RAMs accordingly and just press them to snap them in place.

I am quite sure the operating system is corrupted. Just install fresh operating system.

But still you mention, that it is booting up but it is just blank screen or shut down.

Try to press F8 key once when start up boot to go to ADVANCE BOOTING OPTION. If you are lucky, it will load this option and choose LAST KNOW GOOD CONFIGURATION. or if you have the Operatins system installer CD, put inside the CDROM and repair the operating system.

One time i had the same problem, i went searching for answers but all in vain, this is exactly a sata hard drive, even from manufacturers of Hard disks they can't give a solution or support for this problem, this password uses a complicated encryption method that's is impossible to break. So my dear friend, try and recall the password or you have to replace the hard drive.

Is this a bios password or a windows password? You can tried going on safemode by presing F8 before you turn lapton on.Press F8 for a few time.

Get a paperclip and bend it out so its in one long pin, put that in the tiny hole on the front of the cd drive and move it gently forward and back, this should release the drive so it opens and hopefully its just a case of a cd jammed in there which will free it up once you remove it.

windows might have recently updated the driver and it might have changed the settings. right click on your desktop click personlise then display settings try changing the resolutions and the refresh rate to 60hz if that doesnt work download the driver of your graphics card from your manufactures website and install it over the old driver and do the same for the monitor. Let me know how you get on!
