You can use the VGA input for connecting the PS3. for that you need D-sub to HDTV/Component cable. Connect the vga sid to the projector and the component RCA side to your PS3. Your PS3 have the component video out.

Do you have any fault lights lit or blinking? LAMP or TEMP?

LAMP light is solid orange - If the Lamp light is solid orange, replace the lamp.

TEMP light is solid orange - The projector has overheated. The display automatically shuts down. Turn the display on again after the projector cools down.

TEMP light is blinking orange - A projector fan has failed and the projector automatically shuts down

Sounds like you have a fauly lamp or possibly a bad fan - it depends on what fault lights are lit.

If the lamp is going out and you don't see any fault lights lit then you probably have a control board failure.

you have most likely lost 2 of your color guns, most projectors have RED, Green and BLUE as the projector colors (some newer projectors have added a 4th color). if one of your color guns has gone out, you may experience colors that are not correct. that is where I would start. go to the convergence routine, in your setup menu. this is where you can determine if one of your "guns" has quit working.

Ring DELL service and tell them your problem and they will tell you how to fix it

That will be nothing to do with the lamp. It has a colour decoder fault.

Your lamp is nearing the end of it's life. Contact Dell about a replacement lamp.

if it was merely a power surge then the fuse may only need changing.
If it was a lightning strike, then the Switched mode power supply may have been damaged as well.
Either way only an experienced technician should attempt to work inside as there are lethal high voltages present.

Clean the filters. Make sure that the vents are not blocked. fan are working? Make sure the lamp door is secured, Projector manufacturers will make the projector inoperable if the door isn't secured tightly. Reset the lamp timer. email me at [email protected] if you need a manual.

Basically the first thing for you to check will be the color settings. Try to adjust the color settings as the color may have been adjusted to the lowest.
Also try using an alternative cable to connect the projector often times these cables cause untold problems and make you spend lots of money for problems which do not exist.
Finally if your unit has NTSC/PAL compatibility switch check it.

Have you opted to switch display to the printer using the function key with either F4 or F5, you will see the laptop symbol with a square next to it.

I think option 2 showing two screens with no 1 in them works best with Toshiba.

If you try this and fail, you can look at the From your desktop, Proerties, Settings, Display - Option Plug and Play!

be sure that you have your computer set up to have dual moniters, just google how to set up dual moniters for vista or Xp, or whatever OS you have.

Try pressing the Fn + F8 keys on the laptop, once the projector is connected and powered on.

Visit Oc? TDS450 downloads, drivers, manuals, software, firmware and safety documents (cpp.canon) Select driver then select operating system windows 10 and download the driver

Remove power to it. Reinstall the software. Then plug it back in.

They aren't worth fixing. You can find comparable to dell's for half of the price. They are everywhere. Just make certain it is for dell 1700.
