Wifi is not working while

Hi Sivakumar133,

Some reasons why wifi stops working is due to corrupted driver or defective WLAN card. There are some ways on how to diagnose this problem, just reinstall the driver and configure it again with the wireless access point. You can download the WLAN driver for this particular system by visiting this link. You will notice that on the Networking Wireless LAN section it has 2 types of WLAN card, Broadcom and Intel. Just try to install the Broadcom driver because this is compatible with XP. If you're not sure what is the model of your WLAN just check it under device manager and look for Network adapter. After downloading, install the .exe file then restart the system. You can now configure again the computer to your router.

Hope it helps.

After installation of XP, WebCam not working....

Hi srnerkar45,

The reason why the webcam of your computer wont work is because of missing camera driver. Activating the camera would be so easy if you only have the driver that is compatible with the new operating system of your PC. Based on the official support download site they only have camera driver that is compatible with windows Vista (the original OS that came with your computer). The only way to activate your camera is installing again the original OS and driver that can be found on this link. Just go to the camera section and download the file.

--> You may also try to check this link. Hope that the driver for the specified machine will run on your system. At least give it a try. Don't forget to press the FN+ESC to activate the camera.

Hope it helps.

My laptop y410 is getting

Hi There and Welcome to FixYa!

Seems like you're having an intermittent "shut down" issues with your Y410. One thing that I recommend for you to determine if this is a Software or Hardware issue is to try and see if the problem occurs when in BIOS screen.

Here's how to get to the BIOS screen :
  • Shut down your computer
  • Restart it and tap on "F2" key repeatedly
  • BIOS will start
Leave your computer for say, an hour or so and see if the problem would occur. If it does, then I strongly recommend that you take this computer to the nearest repair center to get it fixed.

Similarly, if the problem did not materialize in BIOS, then all you need to do is to back up your important files and reload your Operating system in order to correct the problem.

I hope this helps, Thank you for using Fixya
