Refrigerator problem

Hello , this is JK. I understand that you are experiencing a concern with the refrigerator cooling. Have you cleaned the condenser in the last 4-6 months? Gently place your hand on the static condenser coils on the back of the refrigerator. Are the coils room temperature or warm? Room temperature air usually means that the compressor or sealed system is not removing the heat from the cabinet. This could mean that the there is a sealed system leak, overloaded relay or a faulty compressor. Warm air means that the compressor is operating correctly and the sealed system is removing the heat from the cabinet. Are the controls set to the right setting? If you see that they are set correctly, consider activating the defrost. The compressor will shut off, wait five minutes and look through the grille in the freezer for a red glow of the defrost heater. If you do not see a red glow you may need to reach out to a professional technician. Hope this helps!

Good Afternoon wendies, I am happy to assist you! Being that you have a top mount (based on the model number posted above, FRT15B3A), the vent in the freezer is what circulates air down to the Fresh Food section, making it cool. Here are a few simple troubleshooting tips that may help you resolve this issue: First check clearances around your refrigerator. There must be adequate space around a refrigerator with a static condenser so that air can circulate properly. Proper clearances include 1" at the back and 3" on top of the refrigerator. Examine your doors. If the doors have been opened too often or for too long, this may have allowed warm air to enter the refrigerator. Make sure to shut the door completely and be sure not to keep the door open for too long. Even leaving a door slightly open can allow too much warm air intake. Make sure refrigerator is level and keep food and containers from blocking the door closing. Check the door seal. You do this by placing a dollar bill between the body of the refrigerator or freezer and close the door. The dollar bill should stay in place and pull out with a small amount of resistance. If the dollar bill falls out when placed between the gasket and cabinet, double check to see if the door is being blocked by anything that may be stopping it from closing. If nothing is stopping the door from closing then replace the gasket. Check to see if the condenser is dirty. A dirty condenser cannot release heat efficiently into the surrounding air. Cleaning the condenser may be necessary, more if you have animals in the house. If you have condenser coils, they should be wiped occasionally with a damp cloth to remove accumulated dust. The condenser coils should be wiped occasionally with a damp cloth to remove accumulated dust. Check for any obstructions to the vent to ensure proper air flow. If the vent is blocked, the air in the refrigerator will not get cool. I suggest double checking the freezer control. If the freezer control is set too warm, set freezer control to a colder setting and allow 24 hours for temperature to stabilize. If these assessment measures prove to be ineffective, I would strongly suggest contacting an authorized service technician or the previous service provider if you prefer, who would be better able to assist you in the diagnosis and repair of your unit. You can often locate an experienced technician in your area by going to the manufacturer website.

Water dripping from Funny looking

Hello,

That water is from the melting frost of the automatic defrost cycle. Their is drain in the freezer behind the back wall under the evaperator coil that is blocked, so instead of defrost water draining it's pooling in the freezer or in some case espically on models with the freezer on the top,the water is leaking from the freezer vents into the fresh food compartment.
The way to clear the drain is remove back plate and remove all ice build up and GENTLY make a small hole in drain, then totally flush w/warm water.
The exact location of drain is under the coil behind back freezer plate in the center

Good luck

I hope this helps you to stop that leak,

The refigerator links water in

The evaporator coils frost up in normal use and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan.

Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help.
Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the inside of the freezer at the bottom of the rear cover.

Look for frost build up on the back panel in the freezer side. If there is then you'll need a defrost timer or heater. Also check to see if you can hear the fan running in the freezer, if not that's your problem...replace it. All the cold air comes from the freezer it needs the fan to get it to the fresh food side.
