Lakewood 2727 Heater - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

No heat coming from it

Let's try trouble shooting the situation, and see what clues we have:

Are there any lights lit?-- How do we know for sure, we have power into the unit?

Are there any resets?- or maybe turning the Thermostat all the way to one end of it's travel, or the other, might re-set it?

There must be some clues-- Unplug it, and start from the beginning, and listen, and observe everything for ANY CLUES!

Let us know what you find, and tell us any clues you see or hear.

How do I add oil to help heater warm better??

they are a sealed heater you can't add oil to get more heat, if you can must be a new type i haven't seen, but if not hot enough throw away and buy a heater that works they work on the principal that an element heats the oil and runds on an internal thermostat to control temperature of oil, your element may be starting to deteriate the same as hot water you only notice with hot water as it starts to not heat the water as much and you feel this in a shower or bath but you won't notice the same in oil heater it won't heat as it has and it may also be the thermostat, inside heater i wouldn't even bother trying to repair waste of time and money i would buy a proper working heater prefrably one that could be fixed to go better after its starts to deteriate a lttle

Help! Dog Bit Through Electrical cord on Lakewood 2727. How to replace cord???

another option for you would be to use crimp on terminal connectors(**** connectors) you may purchase these from most hardware stores. Even using these I would still tape around the outside to ensure a good insulating surface.

Lakewood 7000/A 1500W Oil-Filled Heater. Is it possible to safely wire a different switch in place of the double switch?

Question edited for clarity. No, buy the right one. All these switches are common and generic. You can search them, by the number printed on the side of them. They are here on eBay by the looks of it.

We have a Lakewood Model 6500 oil filled heater and need to get replacement casters. Can you help with a website and size for replacement?

You should be able to get them on Amazon. Just measure the stem for diameter and length https://www.google.com/search?q=lakewood+model+6500+replacement+casters No parts suppliers, I read they are no longer in business. The consumer recall probably finished them. https://www.google.com/search?q=lakewood+6500+heater+parts ..

Lakewood Pro Series HV-20CR fan. The high speed is not working, low and med are slow.

It may need a new switch. You can test with a multimeter. I wonder if it has a capacitor that is failing. There are some servicing videos for the HV021 that may help. If not, take it into a local shop that services appliances. It is worth getting repaired. https://www.google.com/search?q=Lakewood+pro+series+hv-20cr+fan+high+speed+not+working ..

Have a Lakewood HV9 that died.

No. If my memory is correct it has a thermal fuse in the winding that opened. It was not designed to be replaced or repaired. Your berings froze up stalling the motor. It got hot and took out the fuse. You got a lot of years of good service from it.

I can't seem to find a wiring diagram for a lakewood oil filled heater model 7101. Anyone have one they can take a pic of it for me

There are a couple of videos in this link. DO NOT click the link on the first website, or any others that ask you to click 'ALLOW' with a goofy robot image. They are Russian hacker sites. https://www.google.com/search?q=wiring+diagram+for+a+lakewood+oil+filled+heater+model+7101 ..

The wattage selector switch on a Lakewood Model 750 got so hot that it melted the plastic. I still have the metal bridge. What do you suggest?

I would suggest getting rid of it, if it got that hot, the integrity of the metal is now in question. You dont know the reason why this happened and it could happen again. Some of the issues with these are due to poor engineering and manufacturing. IF you want to attempt to figure it out, you need to get a meter that reads resistance and check the heating element resistance and divide the voltage by that number to get the amperage, then you can look and see what the wire rating is for the ampacity and check to see if it is in specification.
