How to set time with new control board?

You may set the clock on your Microwave per page 6 of the User Guide by following the steps below. We've included the link for the User Guide below.https://www.whirlpool.com/content/dam/global/documents/200105/owners-manual-8300610.pdf This is a 12 hour clock and does not show a.m. or p.m. To Set: Before setting, make sure the oven, Timer and Timed Cooking are off. 1. Press CLOCK. 2. Press the HR or MIN "up" or "down" arrow pads to set the time of day. 3. Press CLOCK or START/ENTER. To Disable: The clock time can be disabled so that it does not show on the display. To disable, press and hold CLOCK for 5 seconds. To display the clock time again, press and hold CLOCK for 5 seconds and the time of day will show on the display. The clock time should not have to be reset.

E-1 & F-5 come on after about a minute when

The E1- F5 error is a door lock error.

The control (TIMER) has likely failed in this instance - BUT...

Sometimes when you disconnect power to a range and reconnect it the electronic range control gets confused.
You should disconnect power again for 15 seconds and reconnect and see if that helps.

If it doesn't cure the E1- F5 error hold the bake button in until E0- F2 appears in the display.
This is the error for a stuck button on the keypad and is the way to clear the memory of the electronic range control.

Sometimes these work, but if the control has failed it won't make any difference.

Thanks for using FixYa

The display is not working

Hi!!
Unplug unit from wall outlet for 10 min. to reset the microcomputer. If this do not work, make sure the unit hasn't been set to Sabbath Mode by accident, when this happens there is no display on the board. Check your user manual to enter/exit the Sabbath Mode. If this is not your case, disconnect the unit form the wall outlet, check the flat connector from the membrane Switch (on the control panel assembly) to the microcomputer (PCB).
In case the unit works but the the only problem is the display, replace membrane switch. Here is a diagram of the Control Panel Assembly and components. 1kbron_6.png

Whirlpool oven is remains locked

Others have had this problem, and there is a good web blog about what you can try to free it up. Here is the blog:
http://www.applianceaid.com/clean-lock.html
In case none of this works, the unit will have to be troubleshot. Chances are that it's either a bad control board, or faulty solenoid that controls the switch. Good luck, and hope this helps.

What is the life span for a 13 year old Whirlpool stove? I got it in 2012. It is an apartment stove.

Never ever use the Self Cleaning Feature. Its main function of to break things like elements, door looks and frazzle control boards. That keeps the maker is steady sales of spares. My old Ge Stove is from the mid 1970s. Of course they don't make them like that any more. They are non-electronic, so only elements can fail. You can check elements for continuity with a multimeter and replace them. If you fancy a new one, get one but never use the self cleaning feature and it will indeed last you 30 years. I have an older Roper by Whirlpool self cleaning oven. It does not have a door lock or timer. Do I just close the door and turn the oven to clean and it will indicate when the cycle is done?

Never ever use the features of a Self Cleaning Oven. We see the damage they do here on Fixya, and the worst is the door not unlocking, and the most expensive is when they fry the mainboard. They all have a door interlock. If you were to open it when it was running, it would frizz your eyebrows!
