Hp slim line s700n beeps one short, one long when powered on

One Short followed by one long beep is indicative of a Memory problem. Unplug the power from the slimline. Remove the case to expose the inside and wait about a minute to make sure no lights on the motherboard are still on after unplugging the power cord. If you have more than one memory chip installed try removing one of them and sit it aside. Leave the cover off, plug the power cord back in and try rebooting. If it doesn't boot unplug the power cord, wait till all lights on the motherboard are off, then move the memory chip that is already in to the other slot that was occupied by the memory chip you have set aside. Plug the machine back up and try rebooting. If you still have a problem remove the memory chip and set it aside, now do the same thing with the initial memory chip that you set aside (that is trying it in both slots to see if your computer reboots). If you get it to boot successfully, make a mark with an ink pen or felt pen on the chip that is set aside because it is probably bad. You can try placing the chip you marked on back in with the working chip and see if your computer boots. If it does, it simply means your computer's memory just needed to be reseated, if it does not boot you know for sure the marked chip is bad so leave it out and take it (the chip, not the computer) to a repair shop to buy another chip.

How do I fix the driver door if it won't eject?

If you are talking about a CD/DVD drive, there us usually a small hole on the front of the drive. You can insert a paperclip and gently push. This is an emergency open for the drive.

here's a link with instructions.

HP s7700n - all USB ports have stopped working.

Try to to refresh USB ports.

1. Right-click My Computer icon on the desktop, and then select Properties.
2. Click the Hardware tab.
3. Click the Device Manager button.
4. Click the plus (+) sign to the left of Universal Serial Bus controllers.
5. Right-click the device listed under Universal Serial Bus controller and select Uninstall.
6. Click OK to confirm the removal of the device.

Please note, repeat Steps 5 and 6 until all the devices under Universal Serial Bus Controller are removed.

7. Shut down the computer.

CAUTION: Ensure that the Shut Down option is selected, instead of the Restart option.

8. Wait for 5 seconds and then restart the computer. When the computer restarts, a "Windows has detected new or added hardware" message window will open.

The above steps will refresh the USB ports.

Now connect the USB devices like mouse, video camera, your external usb hard disk...usb hubs...whatever you like and the drivers should install automatically.

Tip: It is always recommended to connect the main usb devices at the rear end usb port, as they require more power to initiate.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Recently I reformat my os from vista to xp but

Heya

Nothing to worry about my friend. The drivers of some devices the computer are missing.
This you can check by
Right click on my computer
Click on properties
Then hardware
Device manager
Now you will be able to see the list of items and you see a yellow question mark on some of the devices.
Now drivers for those devices are missing
Now right click on those devices and click update driver
Now if this does not automatically downloads the driver you would have to search for the drivers on the internet provided if you know the name of the device I.E. the manufacturer of that device

Hopes this fixes your problem. If it doesn't please reply

Thanks & Regards

Can I change my operating system from vista to xp?

Yes you can as long as you have the installation disc with a valid product key. The disadvantage is an older operating system. The advantage is XP is more stable when installed and updated to Service Pack 3.

Hello, i have a slim

1. You could have a faulty video graphic card on the mother board.
2. Your display or LCD screen has a bad power supply adapter or not get power at all.
3.Your display has a bad inverter board and needs service. I cannot tell not being able t o see the devices physically.
4. A computer tech can determine this with a few simple isolation test such as disabling the video card and using a know good one in the pci or AGP slot and connecting the monitor to it.
I hope this helps. Have a good day.
