Abit is no longer around, good luck on finding one

I am not sure if you have tried this, but take one stick of ram put it in the first slot. Try to boot if it beeps or not, power down and move to the next slot with the same chip (we are assuming this is a good ram chip). Repeat for every slot on the computer. If you have 1 or 2 slots that beep and the rest do not; bad slot on the mother board. If all slots beep, try a different chip (bad ram??). If no slots beep, repeat steps with each individual ram chip (you could have just one or two bad and causing all the issues).Hope this helps

I bet you have SATA Hard drive? Your installing windows XP? Go into BIOS and change the SATA setting to act like IDE and it should install OK. Other wise you need a SATA driver disk for when you first install, use the F6 and insert floppy disk with SATA driver.

What version of Windows are you installing?

unfortunately that is the problem. sooner or later it will just not boot up. If you are capable and want to get in to it, you can change the capacitors. if not look for a board. try ebay or pricewatch. they may still have one that would fit your processor. =)

You a need a pair of identical memory modules must be placed in matching DIMM slots in order to to make it work. They need to be same mfg, everything.

check ur motherboard there is one panel down is written

now when u find these panel rest is simple u have to just see down this panel everything is written

Sounds like memory. If you have more than one stick of memory, try using 1 stick at a time and see if it will boot.

i also have the same mobo like yours. i also thinking to upgrade my old processor with better one..

made some quick research.. i would say the mobo unable to support the new processor. checked the BIOS update n CPU support list in Abit's site..

didn't show X4 processor is supported :(

The beeps indicate that error is usually caused by hardware incompatibility or failure. More specifically check the following list:
You installed new hardware that is conflicting with old hardware.
There was a reecent electrical storm that caused a surge that damaged parts of the computer.

Try the following:
Remove new hardware.
Remove any disks or USB devices.
Remove any disks, CD's, DVD's that are in the computer and if any USB devices (ipods, drives, phones, etc) are connected disconnect all of them as well. Reboot the computer and see if anything changes.
Disconnect external devices.
If nothing appears to work then try removing the ram and installing a new module.

Hey for this problem most of the times user thinks that motherboard got corrupt.
but try this first. use your Operating system CD and repair it
use command chkdsk for repairing.
If not then format the system

You should have a seperate disc for the motherboard drivers. Did the motherboard crash or your system?

Try making a disk again - use a brand new disk and check it for errors.

The model number for your Abit motherboard is incorrect (Abit doesn't list one with it). I think I might have found what you really have, though. If so, the power LED attaches to the opposite side of the speaker connector, which is next to another set of headers. You should see it notated as such on the MB, too.

I tried to put ide with SATA and got the same I think IDE and SATA do not mix unless you know how to set up.
Easiest and cheapest in long run use one type of drive

Hi! Hope this helps. Please consider other components or cards installed on your motherboard. Please try removing one at a time then have it start and shutdown if it works. For harddisk management please see the power management at control panel, select the how or when you are goin' to set your harddrive sleep, standby, etc.. We had also met "Standby Mode Problem", by cleaning viruses, spywares and even the registry it can be fixed. Please search for the right and specific tools. Goodluck!
