Have Philips 42
You have problems with your inverters. Inverters will light the screen. In your case I believe this will solve your problem!......But in the event you moved your cable connections to install a DVR or satellite box or high def box, See if you may have improperly misplugged the yellow cable. A common fault by do it your selfers! Please check this before you see a TV tech!

Converter for myTV
This all depends on what you want to do. watch TV, play games , watch dvd's... there is no region code associated with the TV, but you might want to check if your TV supports pal and ntsc.

Power
The power supply aka high-voltage transformer may be bad. It is very common. You can try and test it with a voltmeter. It should have the same reading as the label on back of tv does. - DC Voltage Output

The screen says no signal
Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. Two things that will cause
the NO SIGNAL message to come up are, No data available for closed
captioning and a weak signal input. Your TV is in the Closed Captioning Mode.
To turn of simply bring up the on screen menu and scroll down to the part that
says closed captioning and turn this function off! With the closed captioning
block displayed and the program being viewed is not sending out closed
captioning signals the TV will display, No Signal!
If this doesn’t resolve your issue then the problem may be
with the processor failing and it is causing a random read of the EPROM to
display the not available message.
I’ll suggest you to run the HDMI from the PVR (personal
video recorder) directly to the TV (mute the TV), and then run the optical
audio from the PVR directly into the receiver's optical in. The closed
captioning is something that is addressed in analog broadcasts, but not
necessarily digital broadcasts
Try using Component cables if this doesn’t make a difference.
After using components cables your issue will be resolved.
Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or
else revert for further assistance.
Thanks
Rylee

What is the best way to clean a philips lcd tv?
Best Buy has some of the best LCD cleaner I have found. All I can suggest is try that. Spray your screen and then clean it good with a soft microfiber cloth that comes with the cleaner.

Shine a light down the screen in a dark room with t.v. on. If you can see picture, it's the inverters. They can be purchased for less than $50 each. We had ours repaired for a total of $250 for dx and repair.

It shows that the power is on but there is no
It is the inverters. Just found a shop off ShopJimmy.com that showed us how to check the screen. Turn off room lights with t.v. on. Shine a flashlight down the screen and if you see the picture, it's the inverters. Less than $250 for dx and repair. Very happy!
