Why With a new battery, there seems to be no power on my canon EOS digital rebel xt?

Did you remove the USB cable? As long as there is an USB cable in the camera, you can't power it up. Then you still have to check if the battery is still in good order. Batteries do have a limited time of life. And you only can be sure it is charged, when it works in another (same model) camera.

Flexe on the microswitch under battery cover has come up and not making solid enough contact to power lcd screen, how do you fix this???

This is why I do have spare cameras. I don't think you can repair this yourself, but you can try ifixit dot com. There they have manuals, with pictures, instruction videos and lots of other things to show how to repair a camera (and other stuff) On the site you have to look yourself for the Canon camera or one that looks like the XTi The switch not only powers your display, but inhibits the camera to work normal, to avoid memory failure caused when the battery is removed. Success

Internal flash pops up all the time

Is your camera always in the auto mode? Try to put the main dial to P. Your camera is almost automatic, but won't use the flash, unless you put it up yourself. If your flash pops up, even when the camera is of, you have a mechanical problem. Something broke off.

Cf card error

The file system on your CT memory card can be corrupted. It only takes one second, when you not watch the access light on the back of the camera, when you pull out the memory card. If the card does not contain any pictures, just try to format it. If it won't work in the camera, try to format it in an external card reader connected to a computer with an older operating system then Vista. Give it a format FAT 12 or 16 for the smaller CF cards (less than 2 GB) and FAT32 for the bigger ones. If this works, don't forget to let the camera do a format to, just to make sure the card can be used by your camera.

When I try to take a close-up, the shutter button will only go half-way, so will not take the photo.

Which lens(es) are you using? Not all lenses focus as close as six inches.

Built in flash clicks but wont engage on canon xti

Usually caused by sticky liquid spillage around the pivots of the flash or impact. If liquid, manually pull up on the flash when it clicks to free the flash, and then remove the three screws holding the flash cover. On the right side is a spring with a screw inside it. Carefully remove the screw and check for rust. You can scrape off the rust with an Xacto knife and then clean the hole with a Qtip with Windex, then put some grease or Vaseline on the screw and see if the flash moves smoothly. Also clean off the flash and base with the Qtip and Windex to get rid of any sticky liquid.Be very very careful! There is 300 volts across the flash tube!!! Do not touch the flash tube where the wires are soldered to it!!!!!

Delete button not working ( Canon EOS 400D )

1) Put lens or camera cap on, go to a dark room to be sure if you want2) Take JPG+RAW shot, maybe at different ISO and shutter speeds, one could be 30 sec/ISO 16003) Press menu, go to Settings 2 tab, and press sensor Cleaning: Manual, then OK. Wait for 30 seconds or more (is this necessary?) The mirror inside opens, but since you are not removing dust, this has really no effect, but it seems that after doing this, the camera remaps the dead pixels.4) Take another JPG+RAW shot, compare with shots from 2) - same shutter and ISO

On my Rebel Canon t2i how do I change the images

when you have an image from raw, for example 3000 x 4000 pixels, and convert to jpg , it remains 3000 x 4000 pixels, so detail remains the same, but you have make sure compression is 100% 10 or 12 scale when save as export , in options, if you lower compression the pixelating becomes noticeable, http://www.selteco.com/support/s1065.phphttp://graphicssoft.about.com/od/formats...check settings for save as export for photoshop and lightroom, keep resolution high, if images are resized to smaller 5x7 " sizes for web, maintain resolution ratio from 72 up towards 300 ppi/dpi, Save as copy, not save for web, http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Photoshop/11...http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Photoshop/11...if you were saving to limited web service site, they may decompression or lower file size quality of original image for upload, if you have lower bandwidth service, your settings for web use may also be low for faster loading, making quality lower, Canon Rebel T3i / EOS 600D 18mphttp://usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/produ...http://www.canon.co.uk/For_Home/Product_...
