The lines your are seeing are on the fuser, which fuses the toner to the paper. That's the reason their on every page no matter what. I suggest getting a fuser kit to replace the fuser. http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=ie&l=en&s=corp&sku=173578

Just set the print settings by defaults. Your problem will be resolve.

Open the front door by pulling on the small opening directly below the " Dell " emblem on the front of the printer.

adjust the blue sliding guides to the size of your envelopes, and place the envelopes between the guides as shown in the illustration on the door.

pull the tray all the way out of the printer.

on the very back center of the tray there is a bluish button with an arrow on it.

Press the button in and pull back on the tray, and it will extend the length of the tray so you can put legal paper in.

remanufactured toners, or off brand toners are sometimes not compatible. I would contact the dealer you bought the toner from and tell them the cartridge is defective and demand an exchange or refund.

if you use your printer in local network trough the RG45 port, then you must write the printer IP address in some of you internet browsers and there you will see nice web interface, which can support you with lots of info

Remember to select your operating system

Restore the machine to the original facdtory defaults
Press Menu and scroll down to configure. Press Enter key
Scroll to Maintance. Press Enter Key
Scroll to Reset Defaults. Press Enter Key
Turn off the printer, then on again.
Print a page and see if that does not rectify the fault.

You can also Test if the toner is not confaminated.
Under customer Menu, scroll to Tonerpallet Check. Press Enter Key
A page will print.
You can see if there are any lines, spots or any other faults

Check M cartridge is the magenta cartridge that's empty!!Replace it and you will be sorted!!

Check the cartridge toner level - you may be out of toner.

when you print envelopes you have to choose the envelopes in the printer settings then only machine knows that envelope is printing. when you don't select envelope in printer settings when you sent a print, the printer knows the a normal paper is coming through. the difference is that the envelope is a bit thick the normal paper. when envelope is selected in printer properties then the printer adjusts its settings to print on envelopes.

Open top cover to get to the fuser. You should see two gray tabs (one on each side) on the fuser. Use your thumbs and pull them toward the the side and it sure be able to lift up the fuser.

In order to print both DOC and PDF you need to have both PCL6 and PostScript drivers installed on the PC. One is for Word documents and the other will support PDF printing. You can get the drivers from DELL website. http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen
