What you've done so far is fine, next connect the printer to the d-link with a wire, and allow the d-link to recongize the printer. Once that's done, you'll need to log into the d-link and get the IP address that it's assigned the printer. Then on your laptop, add a new printer and assign a new port using an IP address port, and put in the IP number you got from d-link, and the laptop should find it. Once that's all done, you can disconnect the wire from the printer to the d-link, and everything should still see each other. If not then you've got some settings either on the d-link or the laptop wrong. That printer acts just as a pass through for IP assignment.

this kind of problem occurs in dlink router sometimes & after some time router stop responding after 10 -15 min & once u reboot the router it again start work for a while. the best solution to this problem is to reset the router back to its factory defualt settings u can do this by press the reset button on the back on the router ( it looks like a small hole u have to use a pin for press that button) once u have reset the router to factory default settings just reconfig the router & i am sure it will start working fine in case u still face the same problem just contact D-link or send me the details about the problem & the physical setup of ur router & printer etc

You need to connect the second printer to your print server then install the printer driver to your computers. If your print server has a printserver driver, run that so it will automatically find the new printer for you.

This sounds like something on the Hardware, on the way its uploading onto the computer. Does it do this with every image you try to scan onto PDF?

Have you check which port your PC trying to register your printer to?

1) Signal strength to each computer might be poor (raise the DPR-1260 as high as you can afford or centralize it) 2) There are nearby wireless devices on the same channel (or adjacent channels) as yours. You might not see them, as they are neighbors or businesses, depending where the device is. 3) Wireless is very similar to Real Estate. It might be a shabby house but in the right location it's a sell. Location, Location, Location. (same as #2) 4)Make sure the device is NOT sitting on or at least 6 inches near any other electronic device, including radios, TV, cable modem, etc. As a quick fix, enter the DPR1260 configuration page and change the channel to either 1, 6 or 11, whichever gives you the best performance. There should be a pinhole that allows you to do it with a paper clip...

You can find the details of the operator and the state they belong to .the operators wont reveal the address and name of any mobile numbers only higher officials can only get those information.

I am sure it is now toast and you cannot downgrade if the wrong firmware has been installed. I would ask D-Link.

try changing the channel number from auto to a channel number 2 or 3 higher than the lowest channel number.' do this by logging into the d-link dsl 2640

Ethernet/USB Print Server it is for even windows 98 (OMG ) page 7 is setup. NO OS stated by you, at all. why:? page 3 is OS compat. after reset the default address is 192.168.0.10 5volt power pack is NOT OPTIONAL. 1998 what did you read the free manual yet. the last page shows printer compatibility list, does your match? where would you find a printer that old working now. crickets...??? my guess is 2003 year made. the manual is free , at dlink dot com you push the reset button for long time per manual 15sec (iirc) the release it and now all defaults are set. per the manual, google dir-655 manual. easy as pie if you just read the manual.
