I accidently removed something from my toshiba
If you can't see anything as it is booting up then the black light on the display is out, as in broken. Get close to it and look on the edges and see if you see any light. If you see something but no picture your back light is out.
There's a function key, look for a pix of a moniter on one of the f keys. That switches it off and on. Try using an external monitor and see if you have a display. It may be stuck on external monitor if you were using one. Using another monitor will allow you to see and change it to the laptop display.
It could also be that the video chip went out on the motherboard...

you probably did not plugged back in the CCF backlight. It stands for cold cathode flourescent backlight. This usually gets pulled out when you remove that screen. It is a little rectangular circuit board at the bottom area of the screen housing.

Keyboard on lab top
Hi again, Steven,
It sounds like the
"film" under your keys may have been the victim of a rainy day :-)
- Or just worn out, it’s only
a thin film, and if you use the keyboard like an old typewriter, then :-)
If you are not familiar with
how to take your laptop apart, I´d suggest that you have someone to put in a
new film for your keyboard.
It will typical cost you one hour
plus the film, about $20.
Regards
Teis

Busted keyboard
You may need to replace it. I believe I answered you on how to remove it with your other questions, however, before you go replacing the board, make sure that the ribbon cable that connects it to the motherboard is properly connected and has no visible damage.

Power but not pic
Hi
Fn+F3 is the hotkey for Standby. However you can use Fn+F5 to toggle the display. If Issue persists disconnect the AC adapter and take the battery out then press and hold the power button about 5 seconds. Put back the AC adapter and battery. Turn on the computer. If you need further assistance please post your question.
Good Luck

It looks like they haven't updated the driver software since 2004 (checking the Toshiba site). Is there something specific you're hoping the a new driver would fix?
