V500 fell down now does not work

Most of the time when a phone is dropped or banged they break the header pins inside the phone and isent worth the repair as its cost prohibited. Best thing to do is see if you have service from your provider . if not taker the phone back to where you got it and see if it still has a warranty on it. Good Luck

V551 says contact service provider

Remember unlocking mobiles is not a free service , you can try one of these online sites www.mobile2mobile.net, www.unlockitnow.com or take it to a mobile service center and have them unlock it for a small fee.

Everything works but the screen. Need help to recover address book

Yes you can access the address book using a data cable, but why don't you just take out the sim card if the numbers are stored on there? Or are they stored on the phone? I have a v551 with the sme problem that i am trying to fix so I have mine in pieces. If I can fix it I will let you know.

Photos

Hey Andie,

It seems to me that your camera settings are set to a lower resolution.

Here's how to change it:

a. Turn your camera on
b. Press the menu button
c. go to Pictures Setup
d. Change resolution setting to high (640x480)

And voila! You will be sending higher resolution pictures to your boyfriend.

Hope this helps,
cHiPz.

Caller LCD display broken(phone dropped)

I got the same problem. It started displaying a message "check sim". I turned off and on and that message disappeared. After getting that message a couple of times, the screen went black. But if i turn on the cell with the cover only half way, i am able to see the screen. if I close it or open, i am not able to see anything unless i turned off/on again with the lid half way.

Very curious, this problem just happened after the warranty expired!!

Locked key pad

How to Enter Unlock Codes on Motorola phones:
Switch ON your phone with a not allowed SIM Card,
Phone should show "Enter Special or Subsidy Code",
Enter unlock code
Your phone is now unlocked.
WARNING: if any of these messages appear :
- "Contact Service Provider"
- or "Tamper Alter"
- or "Wait Before Enter Special Code"
- or "Contact Service'
It's because you or somebody else has already entered too many wrong codes. You just have to leave the phone ON on the error message and after 1hr - 8hrs the message "Enter Subsity Password " will appear again!
Note: If your phone is on a 3G network enter **057*, then another window will appear to enter the unlock code.

Motorola v551 subsidy password

You need the subsidy password to use this phone on a different network than it was orginally bought for. There are websites that you can go to and pay for this code. No one will give it out for free unless you can find some local authorized retailer that will do it if you sign up for service through them.

Subsiry code

You will have to get it from either the provider that sold the phone, or from someone that can unlock phones, but they will charge you for this info (usually about 20 bucks). You can find unlock companies online. Here is the unlock tip i gave to someone else:

There are a couple of ways to do this, one is completely safe and the other is fairly safe, but may require you to mail the phone in to someone to have this done.

The best way is if you are still a T-Mobile customer, to call them and have some good reason to use it on a different carrier. The best excuse is that you will be traveling overseas and want to use carriers there so the calls will be cheaper. Do not let on that you will be switching carriers. They did my Razr for me and it took about 3 days for the code. When you call customer service, just tell them that you want to submit a sim unlock request. They will transfer you to a different department. They will gather info (like the phones serial number) and will email you the unlock code. Their website says that they will only unlock one phone per account every 90 days. But they unlocked 2 phones for me in the same phone call (both were razr's). Once you unlock it it can be used on any carrier except Verizon and Sprint (different technologies). Then just switch carriers. For more info on this you can go to T-Mobile.com and type in "sim unlock request" in the search box.

The other way, which may include mailing your phone to a stranger is having someone unlock it for you. There are services on-line that will do this. Some can do it without mailing the phone to them. But some require you to mail it to them so they can unlock it with a cable instead of the code. The usual cost is about $20.00

But the best way if you are not with T-Mobile anymore is to call around to authorized retailers and ask if the unlock phones. Some do it for about $20 (but no mailing it in risk) and some do it for free is you sign up to a new carrier through them. They want your business any way they can get it.

Error messages

1. Is there a SIM card in the phone? Is the SIM card from the same carrier/provider you got the phone from? Was the phone purchased as part of a plan or separately?

2. I see the not charging message a lot with my v551 that I had. I usually adjusted the inserted connector (after insertion) and 85% of the time, the phone recognized the power coming through.

If this fails, then try another power adapter. If after trying a new power adapter does not work, then the pins on the phone has sustained some damage.

Hope this helps :) Kindly leave a rating. Thanks..
