MCO160UW

It sounds like the magnetron is overheating and the magnetron-mounted thermostat is tripping.

This can happen if the internal cooling fan is not running - do you feel air strongly coming out the back or other vent?

If it has grease or other filters, be sure they are clean and not blocked.

Otherwise, the magnetron may be failing. Please post back once you've looked this over if you need more help.

Magic Chef mco153ubf

I had the same problem. My Magic Chef, MCO153UBF Microwave had similar problems. The Magnatron, Cooling fan, Turn table and under hood lights were not working at all after hearing a pop sound under the control panel. Thought it was the fuse but the fuse was fine after testing and replacing. I checked the circuit breaker wired to my house and saw it had a break to my kitchen outlets so i flipped the switch to get back the kitchen outlets. Then I checked the microwaves Control Panel ( Printed Circuit Board) underneath and saw to traces were burnt. I soldered the two trace lines and the fixed the problem.

Turntable, lights and fan inop

sounds like a cross wire, and a short. I'd inspect the socket for the bulbs to ensure that there's no short circuit.

Samsung over-range microwave

How old is it, how mutch did you pay for it, keep in mind everything to toss out creats cheap china reproduction and polution. Don't be the first to complain that we have to do something.

No heat may be cause by serveral problem, bad board, switch, magnetron, power supply, thermistor, fuse, door switch levers, etc...
You can look inside to see if the fuse is ok, second check to see when you start it if the primary voltage at the big transformer is there, if it is there then the problem is after the transformer most likely the mignetron, cap or power board if it has any.
Keep in mind if you nothing about the danger involve don't open the unit.

Microwave stopped working completely

Fan turned on after cooking because a thermostat got to hot and tripped turning on the fan to try to cool the unit.  The unit went completely dead when thermal fuse tripped which is located above the cavity on the left side.

Microwave oven not functioning

Generally, the most common causes of a failure to heat are:

- bad door switches or door switch mounts
- loose connection at the magnetron
- problem or loose connection on the control unit circuit board
- bad magnetron or other high voltage part

If you or a friend decide to look into it, we have critical safety information, info on door switch diagnosis and replacement, and disassembly information at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

No power in microwave - vm11b8p magic chef

The incoming power wire goes onto a small pc board, the fuse is located onto that small pc board. If it is not visible then you have to remove it and turn the board around. You should locate it on the other side

How do I remove a Magic Chef MVP II over the range microwave? It appears the entire outside case is mounted to the wall/cabinet and the micro actually slides into it.

Usually the microwave is attached to the mounting sleeve with hardware but the hardware may be hidden under a piece of trim.

My sister operated the Magic Chef Microwave, Model MC0165UB, without any food inside and now it won't heat. What is the likely problem?

The diode converts the A/C power output of the transformer to D/C, doubling the voltage to nearly 5,000 volts. This high voltage powers the magnetron to heat the food. If the diode burns out, the magnetron won't receive enough voltage to operate, preventing the microwave from heating. When the diode fails, it is often visibly burned out. Inspect the diode and if the diode is burned out, replace it. If inspecting the diode proves inconclusive, test it with a multimeter that uses a 9-volt battery or put a 9-volt battery in series with the diode. When the leads are reversed, the diode should only have continuity in one direction. (Warning: The microwave oven can store a lethal amount of electricity in its high voltage capacitor, even after the microwave oven has been unplugged. Due to the high running voltage and the potential for electric shock, it is extremely dangerous to replace the electronic components in a microwave. Only a licensed technician should replace the diode.)
