That is not a dvd

Sounds like the laser that reads DVD is not working, but the one that reads
CD is. Try swapping the drive with a known working one in another computer.
If the drive does not work in the other computer, and the other drive works in
your computer; then it looks like you need a new drive.

Memorex DVD-R Storage will not load on my

make sure you don't have just a cd drive. I'm assuming you have a dvd drive. Next it probably won't load if it isn't formatted. If you have files on the dvd-r that wouldn't be the problem.

My memory card of 1gb is not format and an erorr

LLFTOOL is a utility for low-level disk drive formatting,
also supports formatting of FLASH cards using a card-reader.

1. Download this tool:

2. Format memory card

(WARNING: After running this low level format tool,
the whole USB flash disk surface will be fully erased.
Therefore, data restoration will be impossible after using this utility!)

How do i format a write protected cd

If it is write-protected, then it is a CD-R or DVD-writable that has been written on -- once written, you cannot "format" it, nor "erase" any files.
Such is the "design" of "write-once" disks.

If it is a CD-RW or a DVD-RW, then you can "erase" the disk, because it has been designed to be "rewritable".

I dropped my laptop and my memorex travel drive

If you are good wih a fine tipped soldering oron or know a person who is then there is a slim chance you can repair it.

But be prepared for the worst.

Yeah i bought a 50pack DVD+R 16x 4.7GB 120min. and

bluee_eyes --

Been there...

I'm sure you have tried, but have you cleaned your optics lately?
Using a Q-tip and a small amount of rubbing alcohol, and GENTLY rotate the swab across the lens, rotating it in the opposite direction you are wiping. This should "lift" any dust or grime from the lens. I would also clean the tray with a soft lint-free cloth (using an air-can just moves the dirt around, doesn't solve the problem)

Hope this helps!

Travel Drive Broke

It depends on your skill level as to if it can be fixed or not. The data is most likely still safely stored on the flash chip inside the drive casing. However, the USB connector has been just ripped off. If you have any experience soldering it would be as simple as getting a replacement usb plug from an electronics store or cutting a cable you have and then soldering the USB connector back to the flash drive inside the casing. This is something than can be done at home or possible by a repair shop that does any type of soldering work(tv, radios, ect) Most computer repair shops will look at you silly if you ask them to solder a thumb drive back to life. I would not expect more than to be able to mount your drive and copy the data. Odds are after you cut it out of the casing it will never go back in correctly.

Good Luck

CAN'T SEEM TO GET VHS TO RECORD

You inset a blank tape.

Tune the VCR to the channel or input source you desire to record.

Press the "REC" or "RECORD" button on the front panel or remote control. Everything should work out ok.

If you still have problems getting a source to your VCR, check the input cables and/or channel automatic programming freatures on the VCR.
