As it turns out, something on your USB drive has been corrupted. It is impossible to access the files already there, but if you want to use it in the future you will have to click "yes" when the computer prompts you to format it.

your pendrive is damaged. pendrives are hardly repairable, i am afraid you will to buy a new one. however you can try connecting it to different pcs with different operating systems and processors. if it still doesnot work on any of them, you can replace it with a new one.

Well answering first part of your problem is quite lengthy. In short its a virus. In order to retrieve your pen with its original capacity you are required to take your pen to a linux machine. since the virus on your pen is exe and no exe runs on linux without wine software. hence, if you format your pen on linux machine though mkfs2 command your pen will be cleaned. but the virus will remain there on your windows machine.

First you must create a password protected section.

i) try to put the usb drive in some other ports(such as usb port present on the backside of yur computer tower) and check whether your computer is detecting the drive.....

ii) if not there is sureluy some problem with ur usb drive, replace it  or repair it..., you can even try putting another usb drive(if you have an spare one...)

let me suggest i ur able the flash drive icon when you go in desktop or my computer then right click on that drive and click the option format and follow instructions, if you are able to format successfully, then no worries if formatting is not done.....


ii) then try to keep your windows'xp or vista cd in the cd tray and restrat system and follow the procedure: formating system(dont wory im  nott going to install or reloading OS ), when u reach a position where u see all the partition(like c, d ,e drive ... with memories), u will also see the flash drive partition along with hard-disk partion separately...

now click on the flash drive partition and press the button D to delete partition and follow instruction after do this , press C to create partition and u will see that a letter(e, f..) will be given to our flash drive....
now quit xp (by pressing ESC, donot proceed loading XP or vista) and now restart system and i think ur flash drive will work.....

Ok plug the the device into your usb port. Most usb devices have lights letting you know they are working. After plugging it in if your using Windows goto "My Computer" and look for a new Drive letter like when I plug mine in it says NO_NAME(G:) and then I can access the flashdrive just likes its a regular harddrive. Now you can always already have "My Computer" open so you can see the new drive letter pop up. Don't look for (G:) yours can be different but it might also be named something like TravelDrive(F:) thats just an example. I hope this helps you
