Just upgraded my system to new PC with Vista on
Unfortunately Canon has decided not to create a driver for the F50 that is compatible with Vista they feel it would be too expensive to create a driver for an old model like the F series.

re install the software u may find that solves the problem if not look to see if theres conflict with other software on program manager or try unpluging usb whilst pc is on it might find it then hope this helps

Wrong cartridge means the printhead has gone bad, no amount of cleaning will help. Sorry about the poor advice, but you just need a new printhead.QY6-0034-010 around $45.00

Wrong cartridge means your printhead is worn out, not inks, you just need a new printhead.
