My laptop went into hibernation on its own and now

why not turn hibernation off first.
here are the firsts list ,
1: new
RTC coin cell installed in laptop (tiny battery is first)
NO cell last 15 year old, why run this battery?????????????
very very unwise
2: park the huge new battery on the shelf till PC runs right again.
3: now run on AC power, this must work or the pack is bad (99%?)
4: ok it runs now, go to control panel and turn off hibernate.
CP + power, turn it all off.
now the dead thing,
do the HP long reset posted at HP 1,000,000 times.
- big battery out
- ac pack unplugged. from PC
- push power button for 10 second
- release.
this resets hibernate , and other oddities.

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.
My system can't play sound
Hi,Please be informed that any hardware device needs a driver software to run within a PC, and the driver software depends on the Hardware Make/Model and the Operating System software you are using in your PC to operate it.You will get the Driver software of any hardware within the CD provided with the hardware part at the time of its purchase. The hardware may be an entire PC,Laptop,VGA card, sound card, LAN card, webcam, printers etc.
If you do not have the CD or misplaced it somewhere then you need to download the driver software to get going. Thus you need to know all the above information to get the exact software your PC needs. As you have not mentioned the Hardware Make/model and Operating System you are using, i am unable to give you the direct download link. However you can download the same by visiting the 'software downloads' section of the website of the hardware brand you have purchased. You just need to Google the name of the brand and visit their website and search for the download section.
If you feel that, my answers have helped you getting solution to your problems then please give a vote.
Thanks.
My compaq pc notebook is
Base from the description of your problem , this seems to be a motherboard failure already. The blacking out of your screen before this problem started is a sign of something on the motherboard is already failing.
Now since the computer will just power ON and automatically shut itself down is definitely an implication of motherboard and processor failure it can be due to overheating problem, so if you want to continue using this laptop a motherboard replacement is needed, you can take replace it by yourself if you have any experience doing those kind of things but if not better take it to a repair shop or better yet do a upgrade and get a new laptop then.
I have a COMPAQ computer
Please press the Alt-Ctrl-Del buttons simultaneously to resume.
Also, try the power button to get the Notebook out of the Hibernation.
The computer will boot up and get you back to the state where you were last time and allow you to continue.
This will resolve the issue you are facing.
I will look forward to your feedback.
Hi my computor just recently went into hibernation
when your computer boots up press F8 after the boot screen, its easy to miss the short period you can press this. This should prompt a screen which allows you to choose how to boot windows. Booting windows normally (without restoring hibernation state) or in your last good configuration that worked (it saves restore points pretty much every day your on it and will revert to that restore point) will be your best bets. Hope this helps, let me know if it gets tricky.

It's possible that it's a hardware problem, Since this is a laptop it may be hard for
you to reseat some of the internal devices inside in your laptop so we
could start isolating the issue from the hardware and to the software.
First
try to power cycle it, turn off your laptop remove the battery, any
external connection like external mouse, external hard drive and
monitor and press the power button for 15 seconds after that put the
battery in and turn it back on without the external devices plugged in.
(if it turned on without a problem that's good-possible that one of the
external devices are causing it to keep on restarting, to isolate it
you can just put the external devices one-by-one and start the
computer, if it start occuring you know who is causing the problem)
If
you can disassemble your laptop you can try to remove the hard drive,
then turn on your computer, if your computer didn't restart that means
that the problem is with you hard drive, possible that the software
installed in it is faulty or the hard drive itself (try plugging it
back in properly let's see if it'll work, if not, you may need to buy a
new hard drive or before buying one, you can try to plug your hard
drive to a different computer (acting like an external hard drive) and
backup all your important files and reformat that hard drive, after
reformatting it you can try to plug it to your laptop again. (if that
hard drive is not detected to another computer meaning that it's faulty)
If that didn't resolve the problem, you can try to reseat the memory testing each memory chip and slots, processor.
My monitors light doesnt work but i can faintly
One of two things has happened.
The lamps in laptops are usaully a CCFL (Cold Cathode Flourescent Lamp).
1. The lamp has gone out, this is normal and will eventually happen. They have a projected lifespan of about 10,000 hours or less. If it has gone out, they can not be replaced in 90% of laptops today
2. The ballast has gone out. Ballast can easily be replace in some models but the parts are not usually avaiable except to the manufacturer.
Since you can see the image but just no light, you know the LCD screen still works. You can check ebay for spare screens and just try to swap it or send it to Compaq, but they will only replace the screen. They run about $300-$600, so most people don't send it in...
Hope that offers some insight.
Laptop Doesn't start
Hi...
Now let's discuss what we
should do when the laptop seems to be booting up without problems, the
hard drive spins appropriately, and we even hear the welcome sound of
the operating system, but we have no display on the LCD panel.
The easiest and most foolproof method for testing your LCD Screen
is to hook up the laptop to an external monitor. If the video output on
the external monitor looks fine, this means that the problem is with
the video connector, with your LCD panel itself, or with the circuitry
that turns on the LCD.
What do we do? It all
starts with disassembling the notebook. Find the video connector on the
system board (if the video is integrated on the motherboard) or on the
video card that is attached to the motherboard. Try re-connecting the
cables. You may as well locate the display connector on the back of the
end LCD panel. Re-seat that one too. This way you can be sure that the
problem is not related to connections.
Every
now and then the switch located on the system board that turns the
backlight of the LCD on and off can become stuck. If this is the
problem then your LCD never powers on. There's a little switch that
detects whether the screen of your notebook is open or closed. That's
the one we're talking about. Try to push it down and hope it gets
unstuck.
Disassembling the laptop to unstick
this switch is an option, but sometimes you can get away with not
taking it apart. Try lightly hitting that plastic switch. But
wait, this isn't the only possible cause, unfortunately. Re-seat the
other connectors and cables that are present around the LCD panel and
the video on board (including the inverter).
All
of the aforementioned can usually be fixed, but let's not forget about
the screen itself. Sometimes the screen can become defective. Here
we'll enumerate a few scenarios where the screen has gone bad and must
be replaced: lots of vertical lines or bands appearing on the screen;
half of the screen works fine but the other half stays either black
(blank) or really white; the output on the screen looks blurred and
changes to different patterns; and so forth. These are almost always
signs of a defective LCD panel.
However, if the
output on the screen is nothing but garbage, such as incorrectly placed
special characters, shadows around the characters, unknown randomly
placed marks of different colors, distorted or ugly-looking geometric
patterns, or tiny little white dots all over the screen, then these are
almost always due to the system board or the connection between the LCD
panel and the video card. Re-seat the connectors.
All
in all, these are some of the most common hardware failures.
Nevertheless, before we finish this part, let's name some of the
others that will be covered in the second segment of this guide, along
with the promised system instability troubleshooting strategies. These
include clicking noises coming from the HDD, which is the well-known
symptom of a dying HDD. Thus, back up your important data as soon as
possible and order a replacement. Overheating is also discussed
thoroughly.
Good luck !!!
