Some ink printer had ink resetter and just go to ink set up.
If your printer have ink resetter, do it otherwise it will not recognized new ink installed.

If not, some new ink cartridge when the tape is remove, there are cases that the sticky leaf on the ink cartridge, just rinse it with warm water or alcohol to detect the ink cartridge. Turn off your printer and your computer. Then return the ink and open your printer and computer to print again.

Note : Use only ink that is compatible with your printer because it you use other cartridge it will damage the chip set of your printer and it will not recognized any cartridge at all. SO beware.

I just off the phone with Epson and one problem with Leopard is that it uses Apple's drivers for printing instead of Epson's.  I couldn't print directly to CD because of that.
To see if that's your issue, go into system setting -> printers & faxes and then select the Epson printer from the menu.  On the right, it will give information about your printer including KIND.  If it has your printer name followed by GUTENBERG, that means it discarded the epson drivers in favor of the Leopard ones.
You have to delete that printer (hit the minus button while it is highlighted).  He then had me go to Macintosh HD-> Library->Printers and delete the entire Epson folder to prevent it from automatically reloading... this may be overkill, but...
Next, REBOOT.
Then go to Epson.com and download the latest mac drivers for your printer and install them.  Go back to System Prefs->Printers and Faxes and click on the + button to add a printer.
When I did this it, my r1800 came up, but it had a drop down menu to choose the KIND and it still had the Gutenberg option, but it now had 'EPSON SP 1800'-the actual epson drivers.  I chose that option and now it works flawlessly and I can again print to CD.

Hello, have you tried a self-test print? which is one initiated at the printer, NOT through the computer.

If you can prove the printer self-test works, then your problem's maybe on the computer side of things; maybe even a driver. If the printer self-test (NOT to be confused with the Windows self-test) DOESN'T work, then take a look at the faq's on the Epson website under 'drivers and support' as below.

First, install "epson easyprint" from the epson website. Its found under drivers and support for your unit.

Then click ok on that error message about "driver dealing with..."
After you click ok on the message, you will get another window where you will find a "manual print" button. Click on this manual print button and this will take you to the next window where you have to select "A4 as the paper size" and "CD/DVD as the paper type and paper path" . After this, click print... it should start to print! This is just a workaround until epson gets a patch for leopard for print cd........hopefully

use landscape settings to print, i.e. insert the paper using its 10" side first

all light are blinking :Service required, the solution is :

1. reset the counter. ( by using specila software)
2. change the waste ink drain tank.

to reset the counter you need to use a special software, give me your mail i will share you this software.

Remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and connect the Printer to be detected and installed. Check printer properties to see the ink levels.
Use head cleaning before a test is taken . It is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the command , can be an issue with ink drying , can also be poor ink cartridge contacts

Well, just to clarify, did you hear any beeps before it turned off? or any sign of error on the machine? This is a fatal error/issue which in most cases couldn't be fixed from the end users. In most cases, this issue is related bad Power Supply unit, i.e. the power supply on the motherboard of the printer.
Open up the front access door, and Turn On the printer, when you see that the carriage is moving, stop it manually when it reaches the middle and turn off the printer. Move the carriage and verify if it freely moves or something is obstructing. After that, close the front access door and turn back On the printer and wait for the result.

Your color print head might need to be cleaned. Try first to clean it using the software diagnostics that came with the printer & that should be already installed on your computer.
If this did not help, buy an inkjet printer cleaning kit from a computer store & clean the print head using the liquid & the swabs included in the kit. Follow the usage instructions that are included in the cleaning kit carefully.

The R2400 has an option to load paper on-top (Epson calls it the Automatic Document Feeder) and at the back. Based on the printer's User Guide the Velvet Fineart Paper should be loaded at the back. (Epson called is the Manual Single Sheet Feed).

The problem is from the roller that feeds the paper ink cartridge, It either the ink cartridge or roller is dirty,or most likely the rollers on the printer that feed the paper through its pathway are worn down.

I will advice you remove the ink cartridge and clean very well, if the problem still persist, then, the roller that feeds the paper through is worn out or dirty, try see if cleaning the roller help but if not replace the roller to fix and solve the problem.
