Your printer tries to estimate how many pages you have left but sometimes does a terrible job of doing so. You may have printed your "100 pages remaining" by printing one photo. Generally page estimates are based on 5% page coverage. I would trust your printer that it is actually out of ink.

I have this machine. It is a brither MFC-665CW.
Ihave two HP printers, and they are both in the basement, only to be used in the event of utter desperation! I know everyone has their preferrences and I am sure there are plenty op folks who swear by their HP, but I will take my Brother any day!

Hi - I too am having an issue with my R1800 loading XMAS CARD STOCK paper.....I tried cleaning the rollers as per the EPSON web site. Although, I used alcohol in stead of water. I made sure I got the little roller way down under the paper and it seems better...although not 100%. Hope this helps!

It seems it was a hardware issue, I reset the printer cable and restarted everything.

Make sure you inserting the paper not deep inside just insert and stop it when you feel any resistance .and try to print something. If it is print then well otherwise you have to show it service center.

You can try the HP partstore to get the part number nd purchase it thre, if it is not available on their website then they have a list of suppliers available here

However, it is unlikely to be cheap when you factor in the shipping. It may be cheaper to purchase a new printer - ther are some very good deals on at the moment.

Clean the roller, just lift the cover and clean it with clean clothe, clean also the spillage around the nozzle and the base of the roller, let dry

No, If you are printing any coloured output this will be normal depending on the actual colour content and what most people don't realise is that unless your text is pure black then it will be printed using the color carts as well and not the black ink cart.

go to your print driver right click printer icon with mouse select property then click finishing turn off gloss. If this does not work then you can not over ride this feature

If you can click on the "Systems Preferences' and then click on 'Print and Fax' pane. You can then identify your printer and RIGHT CLICK on it. choses "reset printer' and it will automatically put the correct print drivers in and you should be back in business.

When you go to print, adjust the margins to zero. If it states you are printing outside the printable area, choose IGNORE.

Have some cleaning check, nozzle check, aligning check procedure to restore the printer head back to normal color or even black.

that is a common problem with the new leopard software by now I think they have fix that so try to download the latest drivers if not check your printer settings

It might be caused by ink leakage. Did you refill ink tank? Check for rubber seal at bottom side of ink tank. It might be deteriorated. Use new ink tank. If it'sn't resolved, take to epson service center nearest to you.
