You never said if it worked with external monitor. You also didn't say if you tried the [fn]+[Fx] key combination on the keyboard to try and switch displays. But, if you look at the screen closely, at an extreme angle and can faintly see the graphics then that means the backlight has blown out. i have seen his before but cannot remember the cause. start by updating ur display drivers then boot into safe mode to see if it does it there. If it does not do it in safe mode it may be a problem background program. That requires stopping programs 1 at a time till u find it. do a serious virus scan.
