Yes there is.. BUT you'll have to set up the security again... Fortunately DLink has a handy setup wizard which you can access here.. http://support.dlink.com/emulators/di514_revc/h_wizard.html
This will work right on your browser. You might want to test that it works on your system before wiping the router. (Just start it up then cancel if it starts)

Find the recessed reset button on back of the router close to the power input. Press and hold it with paper clip or pen tip for 10 - 15 seconds. This will restore it to factory settings.

You should use a wired connection to access the internet after that, no password. Go to the link above and use the online wizard to setup the router with encrytion and new password.

If it all orks wout for you kindly give me a rating. Thanks.

I got new Windows

All of that info is in the routers utility program... to access it do the following
Open INTERNET EXPLORER and. (In the URL address field), enter the IP address for your wireless router ( the DEFAULT GATEWAY. This information should be contained in your router's manual. If you cannot find it, enter "198.168.1.1" as the address. This is usually the default IP address for most routers.do not type "www" just the number
Enter the username and password for your router. This should also be supplied in the router's manual. If you don't have this information, go to routerpasswords.com and find the brand and model of your router. This site lists the default login information for most wireless routers you can try "ADMIN" for user name and "PASSWORD" for passsword.
You should now be able to see your wireless router settings. You can configure your network ports, as well as SSID (wireless network name) and passwords.

If this was helpful, please indicate so, if not -comment back so we can dig further to resolve this.

Change password

In order to get your router back to the original settings, you must push in the reset button (usually on the back of the router) for somewhere between 10 and 30 seconds depending on the router. You may need a pin or something small to push in the button, because it can be recessed. Once you have reset the router, the username and password will be changed to the defaults, admin and password, respectively. One thing you must remember is that resetting the router will change all of the router settings back to the factory settings. This means you will lose all of the changes you made since you got the router. Make sure to write down any things you've changed, so you can change them back after the reset. Also, I recommend updating to the latest firmware after the reset.

My net speed get very

If you are talking about about your speed while connected to the wireless, I do believe this is a 801.11b, which means it is a slower router (for wireless) and only goes up to 11Mbps. If you think you are getting even slower speed than that, log in to it, go to the wireless setting tab and find the setting for the connection speed. make sure its set to use the full 11Mbps! (sometimes is can be set to only 1-3 or 3-5Mbps).
If you are talking about the speed while connected via hard wire (eithernet cable), log in to your router and make sure that the wired speed is set to the highest value (I believe this one goes to 100Mbps full-duplex) and also make sure that the cable you are using is at least a CAT5 or above (CAT5. CAT5E, CAT6). A CAT3 ethernet cable will not go up to the 100mpbs! (this is printed on the wire).. also make sure that the port on your computer also goes up to 100mbps!

hope this helps!

I cannot connect the nook using Dlink 514. Trying

If you do not remember your user name and password then try reseting the router (there's a reset button on the back of the router, press and hold it for about 30 seconds), the use the default user name and password: default user name: user default password: (none, leave this field blank) Once you are in the routers firmware change your setting to what you want them to be and make sure you write them down, save them somewhere safe!
good luck!

PASSWORD

If this is a new router and you have not set your own password, the login info should be: user name: user password: (leave black)
If this is not a new router or someone else has set it up and might had change it and you have no way of knowing what password the used, then reset the router (there should be a lil button on the back side labeled 'reset', you will need a pen or small thin object to press it, and make sure you hold it in/pressed for about 30 seconds). Then use the user name (user) and password (leave it black, no password by default) I stated above!
good luck!

The router may need to be configured. You may also try to reset the router to factory defaults and re-configure settings like password, network key etc. First, to reset the router to factory default setting, press the reset button at the back of the router.
creativetech_5.jpg

Please note that after RESETTING THE ROUTER to defaults, ALL SETTINGS WILL BE LOST AND YOU HAVE TO RECONFIGURE IT. Generally, after hard reset you get the connectivity, however, you have to make the connection secure etc.

All you need is the User Manual for D-Link DI 514
Visit the above link and get the manual for step-by-step instructions.

Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.

Good Luck!
Appreciate generously, if the solution could have been of any help!

D-Link DI-514 router driver and

Go to Dlink website for drivers dlink.com

To open the set up page of the router of the router , one of your computer should be able to go online through the router.
It could be a wired computer or wireless computer.
If it is a wireless computer then make sure that the computer is connected to your own wireless network.
Do not change any wireless settings on the router using a wireless computer.
OK ! Now you have a computer online through the router and you want to open the set up page of the router.

First step is check the IP address of the computer.
Check the IP address and the Default gateway on the computer.

For Windows XP

START ==> RUN ==> type in cmd in the RUN box==> click OK or Hit ENTER . You will see a black window that is a command prompt . In the black window type in " ipconfig " ==> and Hit ENTER on your key board .

For Windows Vista and Windows 7

click on START ==> type in cmd in the start search box ==> enter ==> you will see the black window. Type in " ipconfig "you will see a lot of information. Try to find out the local area connection IPv4 address .

Note down the Default gateway number.

For MAC OS

Click APPLE icon in the right top corner of the computer. Go to System Preferences ==> go to Network ==> you will find the option Built in Ethernet or Airport whichever is connected. If you go to that you will find the Ip address and router Address.

The default gateway is the IP address of your router.

This IP address of the router will be used to open the set up page of the router

Now you got the IP address of the router.Open the Internet Browser ( Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari )

In the Address bar of the browser Type the IP address of the router.

Do not type http:// or www just type in the IP address only.

It will ask you for the user name and the password of the router.

This is the User name and the password of the router and NOT the wireless password. On a wireless router, there are 2 passwords. One is to access the router and the other one is for the wireless network.

For most of the routers the default password will be " admin " . for some routers the default password is " password ". For Linksys router the default password is admin and no user name.

If you don't know the key I will be impossible to just guess it. You can reset the router by inserting a small object like a paper clip into the reset button on the side. This will reset the router to factory setting so you will have to go thru the set up process again if you do this.

My router no longer seems

Try doing a power drain: Disconnect power cable from the router and also the network cables and then connect all the cables back after 2 minutes.

Reset: There is a reset switch available in the pannel along side to the network cable and power cable, use a pointed object like a small pin / screw driver to pre and hold it for 5 - 10 seconds to reset the router

Caution: Reseting the router with the reset switch will remove all settings from the router including the security settings and will retrun the settings to factory settings and we have to setup the router once again.

How to lock dlink router DIR-600 so neighbors

The simplest way is to make sure wireless security is set up, so that users must provide the proper key before they can connect. You can find the user's manual here, which explains the process.

If you're willing to go a step further, you can turn on "MAC address filtering". The MAC address is a unique number assigned to the network interface hardware of the computer, and MAC address filtering blocks access for all wireless users except those you add to the list. If you want to allow only a few computers to use your wireless network (family members' laptops, or friends who may come by, for instance), this is the best way to do it. Then, even if someone guessed the security key, they still couldn't connect.

Where is the product key

For your new computer to connect to the D-Link wireless router, the wireless card in your new computer needs to be configured with the D-Link's wireless settings ie. the SSID and WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryption key.
If you still have the old computer, then check the wireless card settings and configure the new computer's wireless card with these settings.
The other way to get the D-Link's wireless settings is to connect a LAN cable from the D-Link to the computer's LAN port, open a browser and enter the D-Link's configuration URL. then login and password. Then go to the wireless settings to get this information or change the settings.

To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security
